1KG = (ROUGHLY) 2 pounds.

You simply don't get a good power:weight ratio with electric, nor do you get good range and endurance without an exotic and unusual design that's bad for carrying bombs and missiles and stuff.

Combustion engines can probably sustain flight for longer periods than an electrical engine could. Loiter time is essential for reconnaissance and surveillance. Though the operators surely wouldn't mind hopping out of their sweltering ground control stations every few hours while their drones fly back to base and recharge, electric engines just don't seem practical for unmanned aerial vehicles at this time.
If these ever become popular and are available for under $15,000, I wouldn't mind getting a private aviation license just so I can own one.
Then I can say I have an airplane in my back yard! :c00l:
I don't know, it says this plane's maximum payload is just short of 200lbs. I typically hover around 180lbs, and that's too close for comfort.
electric planes could make private planes more affordable. i think the progress is cool, even if its not practical yet

With fuel cells you do. There have been solar powered UAV's that have sustained flight for over three days straight, according to wikipedia they have potential for unlimited flight.
i used to weight as much as that plane's payload max untill i lost weight
and by lost i mean i lost 19 killograms ONE KILLOGRAM LEFT ARGH WHY DONT YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE
