In my experience, most libertarians I know are well read. There are many academic institutions devoted to the development of libertarian theory and knowledge(cato, ludwig von mises institute, reason foundation, fff, et al.). So I guess you're probably a child who only has the experience of hanging around other children who identify as libertarians.
you're not exactly disproving him when you take the first opportunity available to call him a child
idk man im huge and i dont think im conservative.
~vote this if ur a strong independent white guy who don't need no socialism~
Generally the nerdier people are left then. Aka smarter people. Democrats win!
So because dude is working out 1 hour a 3 days a week he's dumb?
"Reason foundation"? What an arrogant name
not really. different ideologies are based on different ideas. libertarianism and utilitarianism pride themselves on being based on "reason" and "empirical evidence". centrists(both conservatives and liberals) tend to be focused on the "morality" and "fairness" of something. radical leftists often like to claim "liberty" or "equality". fascists/nationalists like "power" and "unity". so libertarians taking claim to reason isn't incredibly arrogant. it's just one of the so-called tenets of the ideology. [editline]18th May 2013[/editline]
In my experience libertarians like to pretend that they're well-read and intelligent but the reality is that they played Bioshock one time and completely missed the point
my experience is that libertarians are pretty well read but they read with a preconceived notion of the "founding fathers" and enlightenment thinkers being worthy of reverence and almost a cultish following. it's similar to conservatives and it means that both libertarians and conservatives do a fair bit of revision of the founding fathers to fit their ideal of free markets or non-interventionism or what have you.
libertarianism and utilitarianism pride themselves on being based on "reason" and "empirical evidence"
Libertarianism is no more based on 'reason' than any other ideology
Correlation doesn't equal causation. You could probably find a similar correlation with size of beer gut and conservatism, or liberalism and presence of salad in the house.
liberalism and presence of salad in the house.
thats why liberals aren't strong, because they eat animal food.
In my experience libertarians like to pretend that they're well-read and intelligent but the reality is that they played Bioshock one time and completely missed the point
Na, that's objectivists you are thinking of. Which is probably the most laughable political ideology out there. Most ideologies built like hers "when people disagree with it, they are part of a conspiracy" are written in a way that it reads more like a childrens fantasy book than something to be taken seriously.
don't tread on me, sobotnik.
don't tread on me, sobotnik.
Extremist fight!
Hey, fuck you: I'm a self-proclaimed prodigy, I can bench 70lbs, and I'm a Nazi. Generalize that one, BITCH!
Obvious joke, no one, regardless of age, would brag about being able to bench 70 lbs.
This makes sense if you look at other things like wealth. Wealthier people tend to be conservative and not like wealth redistribution so much. So what I'm getting at is the more you have of something, the more special you'll feel and less likely you'll be to want to share it with others. Being more muscular is just this concept applied on a personal, physical level. So a strong guy might feel that, being strong, he should have the right to take what he wants. He might even feel it's a waste of his strength for him NOT to be assertive in that way.
There's another thing to consider as well. Wealthy people tend to eat better, and care about themselves better as well. So they are more likely to be well in shape. The second group of strong men will high strain physical labour jobs and these people tend to be socially conservative in the US as well.
Honestly I believe this statistic. Men in the south tend to have more physically demanding jobs, such as farming.
In my experience libertarians like to pretend that they're well-read and intelligent but the reality is that they played Bioshock one time and completely missed the point
Bioshock is about choice, freedom and the corrupting influence of power. If power exists even the most idealistic people opposed to using force will be corrupted. Libertarians, objectivists and anarchists always focus on principle instead of the actual consequences of their ideologies.
Do you have a massive fetish for irrelevant posts?
Well butts are essentially just big chunks of muscle. So if you like them big, and if having big muscles means you're mentally challenged Does that mean you have a retard fetish ?
Well butts are essentially just big chunks of muscle. So if you like them big, and if having big muscles means you're mentally challenged Does that mean you have a retard fetish ?
bazingo, nice burn there
Judging from your spelling, yes.
Basing someone's intelligence solely on their spelling skills is pretty silly.
Not all libertarians are objectivists by any means, but libertarianism and objectivism have more than a couple intersections.
objectivism is hardly a political philosophy anyways. it's just a general philosophical outlook on life from what i know of it.
Lmao i literally have more testosterone in my body right now (DRUG ABUSEEEEE) than 5 normal men would produce in a week and majority of my viewpoints are still very left leaning. Haven't bothered to look at the study in great detail yet, but I'd be willing to bet that its poorly done.
no way is that watch waterproof
Judging from your spelling, yes.
le epic burn
Hey, fuck you: I'm a self-proclaimed prodigy, I can bench 70lbs, and I'm a Nazi. Generalize that one, BITCH!
70lbs ain't that much tbh.
This thread has been fun, but I was expecting more self consciousness.
weak male, mildly right. will i get banned for voting republican? no I did not vote for mitt romney or bush, I have been very disappointed in my party lately
'my party'
weak male, mildly right. will i get banned for voting republican? no I did not vote for mitt romney or bush, I have been very disappointed in my party lately
i like how everyone who votes Republican is constantly afraid of getting banned for it. persecution complex to the max
