not really. different ideologies are based on different ideas. libertarianism and utilitarianism pride themselves on being based on "reason" and "empirical evidence". centrists(both conservatives and liberals) tend to be focused on the "morality" and "fairness" of something. radical leftists often like to claim "liberty" or "equality". fascists/nationalists like "power" and "unity".
so libertarians taking claim to reason isn't incredibly arrogant. it's just one of the so-called tenets of the ideology.

my experience is that libertarians are pretty well read but they read with a preconceived notion of the "founding fathers" and enlightenment thinkers being worthy of reverence and almost a cultish following. it's similar to conservatives and it means that both libertarians and conservatives do a fair bit of revision of the founding fathers to fit their ideal of free markets or non-interventionism or what have you.

Which is probably the most laughable political ideology out there. Most ideologies built like hers "when people disagree with it, they are part of a conspiracy" are written in a way that it reads more like a childrens fantasy book than something to be taken seriously.

There's another thing to consider as well. Wealthy people tend to eat better, and care about themselves better as well. So they are more likely to be well in shape.
The second group of strong men will high strain physical labour jobs and these people tend to be socially conservative in the US as well.
Honestly I believe this statistic. Men in the south tend to have more physically demanding jobs, such as farming.

Bioshock is about choice, freedom and the corrupting influence of power. If power exists even the most idealistic people opposed to using force will be corrupted.
Libertarians, objectivists and anarchists always focus on principle instead of the actual consequences of their ideologies.
