didn't see this one in the thread yet. anyway, the turret doesn't look that much larger, and the bulkiness is likely to be ERA
Just came back from watchin those boys on a night road at moscow downtown. Expect web to be filled with footage really soon, there was ALOT of people.
Those 2nd and 3rd IFVs look simultaneously fucking cool and like the stuff of nightmares. Can't wait for them to be added to ArmA 3!
Btw, somebody was asking if T-14 is present in Armored Warfare - http://aw.my.com/us/news/general/introducing-t-14-armata

I almost wish for it to fall apart during the parade, with all the bulk falling off to reveal the T-72 with fake stuff on top.
I almost wish for it to fall apart during the parade, with all the bulk falling off to reveal the T-72 with fake stuff on top.
That would be T-90 pal.
That would be T-90 pal.
Which wouldn't be as hilarious.
I almost wish for it to fall apart during the parade, with all the bulk falling off to reveal the T-72 with fake stuff on top.
It is actually those dolls that fit inside each other, but in tank form.
It is actually those dolls that fit inside each other, but in tank form.
Matryoshka dolls, yes. If you go deep enough, you'll find T-26.
What is up with that URL?
non-latin stuff always looks like that in domain names and such they always start with "xn--" and are followed by a string of latin characters that represent the non-latin ones with this one in particular, the ".xn--p1ai" is equivalent to ".рф", which is basically ".rf" for "russian federation"
Movement begins around one hour 20 mins Lovin that YARS nuclear baby. Also, just noticed they got rid of that blue color on new army logo, thank's god.
it's bizarre how the evolution of tank design has progressed. first there was thin armour, then thicker armor, then sloped armour for the same protection for less weight, then super thick armour, then paper thin armour when ATGMs were the new hotness, armor was considered redundant and maneuverability was more important, back to thicker armor with lotsa slopes when reactive and active protection systems were developed, now back to thinner armor with no slopes... where's the fucking quadrupeds already?

Excuse me, "Medium tank" Armata? What is this, WWII? Because if I remember correct, after the Cold War there are only "Main Battle Tanks", the classification between Light/Medium/Heavy were gone, were they not? Or am I mistaking something? Nonethelss, the designs are actually really rad, I love to see that Russia is finally stepping up in modernizing their equipment.

The front is probably +1200mm RHA equivalent, and it almost definitely got active hard kill systems by default (stuff to explode incoming projectiles with).
Which wouldn't be as hilarious.
Lets go for T-34 then.
That would be T-90 pal.
Which is essentially a T-72
Also, just notced they got realised that they of blue color on new army logo, thank's god.
Come again?
Are they going to showcase them in Ukraine too?
Newest generation of Russian tanks appear during pitched battle in Eastern Ukraine; Putin condemns rebel usage of such dangerous weapons and accuses Ukrainian government of not keeping its equipment more secure
snip
That would be T-90 pal.

Which is essentially a T-72
Which is an enlarged T-54 Which was a slightly changed around T-44 Which was modernized T-34 Which was a modernized BT-7 Which was a design stolen from America. You Now know the history of Russian Tank design from 1930-Present
Excuse me, "Medium tank" Armata? What is this, WWII? Enemy will think "hmmm... if this is medium... THEN WHERE IS LIGHT AND HEAVY?"
Btw, somebody was asking if T-14 is present in Armored Warfare - http://aw.my.com/us/news/general/introducing-t-14-armata
also holy shit World War III WILL be fought online.
Come again?
pardon, fixed. Also, i think we need some Russian users to transalate t-90 article from Lurkmore (Our Encyclopedia Dramatica), not only it's hilarious, but it nailed alot regarding similarities in design and evolution and etc.
One reason for the turret's height might be gun depression. The higher the turret, the more you can elevate your cannon breech and, therefore, lower your gun. It's something Russian designers were always willing to sacrifice. Also, notice the suspension, it's got 7 roadwheels (one more than the T-72), meaning it's either longer than the T-72, or the roadwheels are smaller. One other thing I'd ponder upon is the gunner's thermal sight. The T-90MS, from what I know, used a locally built version of the French "Catherine FC". I wonder if they've changed that aswell.
pardon, fixed.
Oh. Well if you don't like it can we have it. It's got red, white, and blue in it.
Those tanks look pretty futuristic. Wonder how they would stand against an A-10
I still feel that the star is mildly tone-deaf.
That is an outright massive cannon, what was its bore?
140 mm for the main gun and 40 mm for the autocannon. [editline]4th May 2015[/editline] Also these Russian vehicles look badass. They look quite futuristic.
Oh. [t]http://wmpoweruser.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Mall-of-America_1_0.jpg[/t] Red and white one in that form are reminiscent of old classic one, soo it's for best.
