We get small quakes here now and then in the netherlands due to caves collapsing when we pump up gas from them. Might be the same for Florida? Dunno if there are any gas or oil reserves there being exploited.
Hell maybe that could be it, would an unopened cave be detected with the seismic sensors? I think it most likely would. Seeing how they said there was no seismic activity then that may not be so plausible. Though, that one post explaining its just sound traveling farther than normal makes sense.
Found this too.
So then its basically just a bunch of over hype with people getting all blindly paranoid about it... I wonder about space craft, don't they enter the atmosphere at moch30 and slow down from there? Would that make enough sound for it? If so, could that sound cause this under the right scenario?
Don't panic people, it was just Saxton Hale killing Chuck Norris.
You need boxes, because they both are so powerful that it would be a never ending fight and would destroy the planet.
I talked to my dad about it, he used to live in the same area back in the 70s. It happened to him as well...
I talked to my dad about it, he used to live in the same area back in the 70s. It happened to him as well...
So, this is just an unexplainable phenomenon (or how ever you spell it)? COOL.
I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and we had a tremor a few days ago that set off my car alarm, made our clocks fall, etc. Nothing on the news, no reports of increased seismic activity.
War of the Worlds.
I live an hour away from Boston. Those fuckers ain't getting me.

Gabe was just in Florida on a business call. The plane he was on couldn't handle his weight.
Didn't feel anything.
Gabe doesnt live in florida does he? he could have just jumped up and down. [editline]22nd March 2011[/editline]
Gabe was just in Florida on a business call. The plane he was on couldn't handle his weight.
ninja'ed

I hope nothing happens, half of my family is in Florida right now.
It's probably just a weather balloon.
It's just hysteria. Some people said that they felt shaking, then they told other people who then believe that they felt it too so they tell other people and then they say they felt it, etc. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. It used to happen around once every one or two years when I lived in California. [editline]22nd March 2011[/editline] Oh, my bad. I just watched the second video where there is footage of it. Disregard my above post or flood it with boxes.
Were those russian scientists right?
I call bullshit, geologists don't just lie like that and say they didn't detect anything.
I call bullshit, geologists don't just lie like that and say they didn't detect anything.
The quakes can be localized to the extent that measuring stations might not have a chance to pick them up. Large quakes can be picked up from the other side of the world, smaller quakes are a different story. The quakes we're starting to get in Tulsa, Oklahoma are actually noticeable. I remember waking up one night to my entire bed shaking. Local geologists have no idea as to where some of these quakes are stemming from. Imagine having shit knocked off of your walls, feeling everything move, etc. only to find that no one has reported on it. It's puzzling to say the least.

I've yet to feel any of the earthquakes people are reporting in Oklahoma.
-snip- Never mind
It's an Earthquake
The second video sounded a little like a really low pitch and never ending toilet flush.
I talked to my dad about it, he used to live in the same area back in the 70s. It happened to him as well...
Obviously there is an underwater alien city near Florida and alien spacecraft is taking off.
What earthquakes? I've yet to feel any of the earthquakes people are reporting in Oklahoma.
The last big one was last year, and it was recorded as a 5 point something. Made the news. Since that time, I've felt smaller ones. Like I said, I had clocks knocked off the walls, my car alarm went off, etc. about a week ago.

It was about a two weeks ago though.
Damn, I want to experience an earthquake. A strong one. No cool natural disasters other than freezing our balls off never happen in Finland.

So I woke up this morning and my Mom told me there was a earthquake between South Carolina and North Carolina. I also heard a strange noise at midnight. The time it occurred was close to that apparently. :ohdear:

People saying cave systems may be on to something. Here we have a lot of aquifers, and as more people move in, more water gets pumped out of them. Relieving the water pressure oftentimes causes them to collapse in. Therefore we get a crapton of sinkholes.
Central Florida here, not heard anything about it. Sounds like a minor quake. A sink hole on the other hand, sounds like a fucking stupid theory.
