It's not just a couple of cases, there's been reported thousands of cases, and the pope himself is trying to protect the rapists. The Cathloic Church is also against condoms, and the pope has said that it's better to have unprotected sex than use a condom, which means stopping AIDS is going to be even harder. They're also against homosexuality.

The whole condom thing is because they believe in the sanctity of life. They aren't trying to be arses it's just what they believe in. Besides, many catholics use condoms anyway, it's not like you [I]have[/I]to follow all the Church's teachings to the word.As a whole the church does need to update it's views as the world is now adopting a more Liberal stance but even so repeating the stories about the rapes isn't going to change shit and makes for a weak argument. People expect the church to be absolutely perfect but the fact is that Priests are just as likely to make mistakes as we are, no-one's perfect.

Priests are way more likely to make mistakes than we are. There are way more priests that rape kids than there should be, compared to the general population. The fact that the church doesn't mean to be evil doesn't mean it isn't.

To say the church is outright wrong is rather fallable as the church isn't just the priests or the vatican. It's much wider than that.
