So who's at fault here? I don't understand who's negligence would lead to such a fuck up.
a lot of small things adding up to a lot of giant things.
problem is that the tournament organizers are still the same. its only production thats gone.

Good news, Twitch is on scene and working to fix it.

This just makes me very happy that Capcom Pro Tour has so much grassroots event organization talent across the world providing the tournaments with lots of experience with streams and events.
I guess this happens when you go too esports for amateur event organizers.
Apparently there was some shady shit going on that Kyle Freedman might talk about when they're out of China?...
oh man, i was about to go to sleep when i hear that they banned cosplayers from the shanghai major because it can cause crowds
thanks shanghai shitshow for my constant source of entertainment and drama this week
also here's a hotdog from the venue that costs 7$ (6$ for the hotdog, 1$ for the ketchup)

this hotdog is a perfect summary of the shanghai major
That hotdog doesn't deserve this. They've gone too far this time.
Thing is, I don't think there has been a more glorious fuck-up than this in professional gaming history. Especially when Valve is overseeing this whole thing.
I dunno, that one CSGO event where a lot of computers were stolen, gutted, then returned, and where most of the teams got food poisoning from the hotel was pretty bad too

Which one would that be?

Even that hotdog looks ashamed of itself.

Food poisoning, cancelled dota 2 tournament, nobody getting paid, passports withheld etc.
Made a 40 minute video on this and didn't cover half the shit and more shit kept coming up after the tournament. Rest assured this major is coming close to beating it, except teams will actually be paid.

The link to the fp thread of that event if anyone is looking for it
So, How long untill valve gets its own team to host this? given that the replacement that was suppose to be better kinda failed.
The replacement production is basically just a single person, who was originally employed as a translator.
And yet she does a better job than the entire professional group that was the original production crew.

The replacement production team is MarsTV, who have also run their own LANs (some of the better ones in China afaik) but have been brought into the middle of a shitshow that they didn't start. Bonnie, the person you're referring to, is/was the (single) English liaison between the original production crew and everyone else. She is still working at the major.
It seems they forgot to turn off the stream, all I can hear is some swedes playing a game.
