I'm on my transformer prime now. A resolution that big on a tablet is not needed because you are never going to get that close to the screen to really care about it. I sold my iPad 2 for this and I'm never going back to apple.
Surley that resolution is just a waste of rendering power and battery?
I've gotten over their marketing ploys now and I realise how stupid they are.
They're upping the battery capacity and the CPU/GPU accordingly. Maybe you don't care about a higher resolution but many people do and have been complaining about the iPad's crap resolution since the iPhone 4 came out. It's not a 'stupid marketing ploy,' it's giving in to customer demands. But I suppose a giant company worth more than Poland don't know what they're doing and you know better.

^^^This right here. I decided not to pick up an iPad 2 because I really didn't like the screen and I knew that the next logical step with where mobile tech was going was a screen resolution increase. I'll be buying the iPad 3 and the improved screen has a lot to do with it.
