Upcoming first-person shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order will take you around 20 hours to complete if you collect everything and explore all the environments the game has to offer.
And six hours if you play it like a normal player would. So basically a normal FPS campaign.
Matthies also pointed out that Wolfenstein: The New Order (which does not have a multiplayer mode) will encourage you to play through the game again, "especially to explore the alternate timeline," he said. He went on to say that early on in the game players will make a choice that will open up an alternate timeline which "changes the vibe of the story." "It's recommended to do a second play through and see what would have happened if you chose differently," he said. It's unclear how the paths differ.
AKA "We couldn't make this game fun enough to play twice on a basis of fun so we've given you an arbitrary alternate ending bait to get you going through it again.
"But MachineGames will never make both at the same time. We find that the best possible results come from having the whole team focused on a singular experience for the duration of the project," he said.
This much I do agree with, though. As someone who plays primarily single player games it's frustrating as hell when I pick up a new game and see all the corners they cut to put in the multiplayer bullshit. It might be good, it might not be. But it definitely isn't worth sixty of my US Dollars. Or even thirty. Fifteen is stretching it. I'll have to pass on this one, though I can admire a dev that realizes the effects trying to develop MP and SP in the same cycle has on both modes.
http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/wolfenstein-the-new-order-pc-cd-key-steam $39.58
Yeah if you're buying on PC you definitely shouldn't buy straight from Steam anymore. There is always reliable CD key sites that sell the exact same keys as if you had bought the game at walmart down the road, and for half the price. I bought a pre-order for this game for a straight 29.99 (if you pre-order games a month or more ahead of time you can usually get it close to 30$ like I did.)
And six hours if you play it like a normal player would. So basically a normal FPS
How do you go from 20 to 6? What's in those 14 hours? Remember this is 20 hours single play through not multiple

Previews done by press as well.
But i want more than 60 fps on PC. and high res textures.
Also it isn't an 'alternate ending' depending on a choice, things change through out the game. They minor, but it isn't just an alternate ending.
good. anymore than twenty and i would of been pissed
But i want more than 60 fps on PC. and high res textures.
can you even notice over 60fps? 60 is smooth enough as it is.
can you even notice over 60fps? 60 is smooth enough as it is.
It's Noticeable if you have a Monitor over 60Hz apparently. I don't have one so I wouldn't know.
Twenty hours? Corridor shooter? Yawn. [editline]12th May 2014[/editline]
can you even notice over 60fps? 60 is smooth enough as it is.
The human eye can only perceive 30 frames per second anyway!
can you even notice over 60fps? 60 is smooth enough as it is.
Not this argument again... You can notice the difference i use a 120 hz monitor, i a can even see the difference between 120 and 144hz, even if you dont get 120 fps. 60 fps on a 120hz monitor is still smoother than on a 60hz one.
I'm curious about the Doom beta instead. I mean, motherfucking Doom. I need to see some of that.

One day.
Twenty hours? Corridor shooter? Yawn.
But it isn't a corridor shooter.
$60 for a 20 hour game? No thank you. I will gladly wait for a steam sale on that. [editline]12th May 2014[/editline] Which is actually really disappointing because I was strongly considering buying this game at sticker price because it looks so good.
:suicide:
FPS games just aren't made like they are used to. It's rare you find something solid like Killing Floor, or something with a good story + campaign like Halo: Combat Evolved. But this looks pretty good.
can you post a good opinion? hell, even rusty likes things once and awhile

he's a gimmick, ignore him
You can't take a joke can you? I've been hearing "The human eye can only perceive 30 frames per second" since 2002.
RTCW had a multiplayer mode of its own before W:ET was released though, didn't it?
i dont remember it being online
Wouldn't "All Platforms" include Wii U? For fuck's sake, people bitch about how there aren't any games on this and yet nobody makes games for it. I just wanna shoot Nazis without having to deal with my crap pc.

It's a sad cycle.
can you even notice over 60fps? 60 is smooth enough as it is.
Yes, but it won't be visually different if your monitor is only 60 Hz. It'll still have less input lag though.
Can't wait for this. Especially glad that it's single player only, means they obviously put a good emphasis on it and I can't exactly play multiplayer games smoothly on my 1mbps connection. First game I'd get on my PS4 in six months or so - after I got Black Flag in November.
http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/wolfenstein-the-new-order-pc-cd-key-steam $39.58
but but but but I should be entitled to 20 for 20 hours this is unacceptable!!!!!!! developers should conform to my needs not the other way around!

There was zero advertising of any kind, the only place you'll see ads for them is in their tiny ass sections at EB games. Ask my co-workers about it; 'a Wii U? What's that?' Ask my friends about it, 'what the hell are you on about'.
Anyone else remember when people measured a game by how fun it was and not by its framerate.
Well look at how much technology and hardware have improved over the years. Is it wrong of us to demand the best possible performance that our hardware is capable of? I mean yes, gameplay will be the factor that sells your game like it or not. But just because a game is fun, doesn't mean it has an excuse to run like ass. All games should strive for Max Payne 3 levels of smooth performance.

It isn't even a matter of entitlement or anything, or that anyone deserves it. Of course, it can't happen all the time and it's not totally bad if it doesn't go the way everyone wants it, nobody of perfect, not even groups of people. Having MP3 tier optimization every time is literally impossible. You can expect a badly optimized game from a new studio and that's forgivable, but but there always a certain point of bad optimization where it's unacceptable.
