I think I'll just hope for the best, until it's out of beta.
It's a brilliant idea though, except for the fact many people use the same password EVERYWHERE
This sounds great and everything, but I'll wait until they find all the serious bugs and stuff. I wouldn't want to accidentally be locked out of my account over an issue identifying it's really me.
whoever designed that logo needs to learn how to use line tool better
Haha Gabe released his password for us to test this thing out.

gaben
I currently have it activated on both my laptop and desktop, works fine and I had no problems with the email or anything.
I kinda like how in the past they've done Steam-related names like Steam Cloud and Steamworks, but for this they were like, uhhhh, uhhhhhh, uh, Steam... Guard...
fucking intel only. This is bullshit.
fucking intel only. This is bullshit.
Yeah thats why Im using Steam Guard on an AMD Phenom II x6.
Yep its Intel only
Its Intel only for the full thing, Steam guard verification still works.
fucking intel only. This is bullshit.
No it's not learn to read. It works on AMD, but with Sandy bridge you can use even better security.
This sounds great, still going to wait till it's out of beta though.
Well played Steam! I like this also.
And it appears you don't have to pay a penny to do this either.
For one additional step in getting logged into steam on another computer, I'm totally cool with this. It would virtually eliminate most phishing attempts regardless.
Why would you ever have to pay a penny for something like this?
I had to turn off steam guard because it told me I was on a new computer every time I restarted steam.

Yea, I turned it off because it said I was on a new computer, and my authentication code didn't work.

I'll repost my post from the other thread.
Well, my activation code doesn't work, so I'm locked out of my account.
Edit: Just logged into my other computer, which I never use at all, and SteamGuard didn't work for it, it didn't tell me to enter my code. Obviously this has alot of bugs currently.

Okay, I got it fixed. I went on my old computer, it had a pretty old outdated version of steam on it, preventing steam guard from working. I then had to opt into the beta (even though I'm already in it), restart my steam 3 times, and then I disabled steam guard completely, and I now can use my account freely. I advise you don't use the beta at its current state, just wait for all the kinks to be sorted out.
Every time I opt in for the beta, after a new update it opts me out.
God fucking damn it.
