I wonder if you would be so offended if I brought up that article about the Donetsk "Peoples Republic" abducting a woman, beating her, tying her to a flagpole, and having people slap, spit on, and throw things at her for being a "loyalist".
I would call them savages no better then these journalists. The difference is that DNR doesn't claim to be democratic, european, civilized and all that. However if I remember correctly the woman in question was guiding ukrainian artillery. If you ask me she got out of it pretty easy: they put her naked only covered by a huge ukrainian flag (was big enough to cover her body) and left in the street. DNR didn't allow to injure her. If the soldiers that caught her that caught her would kill her without any hesistation I wouldn't have a problem with it because somebody who tries to kill me is considered my enemy and during war time there is no mercy for traitors, so I would be able to understand them. Maybe you are talking about a different story however.
This tbh.... Not saying such behavior is acceptable but it's not unexpected with the recent happenings.
ya the behavior seen is very reminisent of the american civil war, brothers become bitter enemies, northern generals names becomming swear words in the south

Double standards.
Yes. Shadow invaded by journalists.
Journalists from Russia, a country who currently had the propaganda machine on full swing. Journalists who are a keystone piece in the propaganda machine. Do you expect them not to be angry when they are dehumanised and invaded because they threw away Russia's puppet?
Wait, aren't Ukrainians "European nation" with democratic values and an urge for freedom?
It's a bit different when you're at war. She shouldn't have been attacked, she should have been arrested and deported instead.
Is it really that hard to understand? Citizens of Ukraine are pissed at citizens of Russia because Putin invaded their country pretending to be a liberator. Desperate people do horrible things and are blinded by rage. Russians on the other hand are either blinded by propaganda or refuse to admit they're tearing a nation apart because they're ashamed by what they're doing (or really believe Russia should go back to a nationalistic edition of USSR). Both sides build up the tension shouting at each other with USA not giving a fuck and the EU trying to do something, meaning imposing sanctions that hurt the federation but also giving credit to right-winged political parties (Lega nord, UKIP, AfD). In the meantime russian medias encourage propaganda and nationalistic rethoric saying it's all fault of the evil west. Result? Ukraine divided, Crimea annexed, everyone nervous and a Cold War near. Just open your eyes Russia and stop this madness, while your nice neighbour EU tries to become a serious and strong negotiation party.

I'm actually on the win 10 preview, I'm guessing FP doesn't have a logo for that so it uses windows 7 logo for some reason ... And Win 7 isn't bad.
I don't condone it, but they've been shadow invaded twice already, I can understand why they're pissed...
oh she's Russian so she deserves it :downs: ...
-nvm can't read-
Pissed or not you don't attack journalists
Serious question, not quite related to this incident. But what if it was the "journalist" firing a 50 cal towards the Ukrainian government a couple of weeks back?
I guess by that logic Iraqi terrorists can attack American journalists too?
Terrorists and the people of a country in war time are two very different things. Though this wasn't right, I do understand the hatred of Russians in Ukraine at the moment. However, it also doesn't give Ukrainians a free pass to just attack anyone who has even the slightest affiliation with Russia, as it wouldn't anywhere else. Inexcusable behavior for an inexcusable reason.

That's called being an enemy combatant, congratulations to that journalist they just made themselves fair game. Inexcusable behavior for an inexcusable reason.
I understand it too and maybe, just maybe, if I were in the same situation with the same raw emotions I might be inclined to do the same thing. I'd still be wrong though because, as you said, inexcusable behavior. I think it's fucking hilarious though, there's people on this board who are supposedly progressive and don't tolerate discrimination, but they're unapologetic bigots. I don't care either way what people think, but if somebody who is supposedly against racism "because it's wrong!!" turns around and openly supports a violent mob beating a woman because of her nationality I'm going to call them out on that hypocrisy. I do shit like that all the time because I apparently have an extraordinary intellect and the supernatural ability to think rationally, which is sad because I don't feel like I have those things but there's little evidence to suggest otherwise.
