Man opens shop in back of car to sell sweets outside schools

this is such a stupid thing to complain about, there wouldn't be an article complaining about a 7/11 being placed one block away from a school which would be just as accessible for sweets as this guys van is.
the Daily Mail probably only give a shit about him because he's asian, talk about scaremongering

kids shouldn't be eating those they taste like shit
As opposed to the massively overpriced prison slop they sell you inside the school?
I'd rather go out the parking lot and buy junk food out of some random dudes car trunk too

I had some today, they taste better than they used to.
Hey I remember someone doing it here in Texas selling to my primary and secondary schools.
He had stuff that the school didn't even sell.
Why do they have such a big problem with this, and not say... and Ice cream van. I suspect Daily Mail scare tactics at play.
Besides, when i was at school most were slinking off the the newsagent for cigs not sweets, i reckon this is preferable.
Someone should set up an arcade inside a trailer of an 18 wheeler and do this.
I wish we had something like this, but in our school we can't even leave the lunchroom without a pass. The doors to get outside are usually watched by a teacher to make sure we don't try to leave.
This reminds me of the time I sold some salt at school.
The person I sold it to dumped it into someone else's drink.
We both got sent to the office and had to talk to the principal.
Are Ice Cream vans banned now or something?
There was always an Ice Cream van parked outside both my primary and secondary schools. This is pretty much the same.
I'm assuming he already has a shop, but just takes some stock out with him for this.
They pretty much are. Every summer up till 2010 an ice cream van came up to the wall of our school, next to the road and it was literally swarming. The old fuckers who run the school told him never to come back, cunts
Geez where is this? Where is the grass?
it's a pretty woodsy/grassy open area for being chicagoland, area's 75% farmland, forest preserves and marshes outside of that town center
This is going to end because he isn't licensed to sell on the street, or something along those lines. Shame, because I like this sort of thinking.
I think that pink sheet he has attached to the side of his car is his license, I mean if he was unlicensed he probably would have gotten the can already.
Arabic-looking man does thing.
Count on the Daily mail to find some way to demonize him. Though this article really looks like they're desperate, it's sad.
i saw that happen in both the middle school and high school i went too (different persons/locations)
never saw anything weird about it. i imagine this isn't common over there?
I would love to have a Mcdonalds near me that wasn't an hour walk away.
It'd love to have one in 30 km radius of my city :v:

Dai lives in a post apocalyptic wasteland.
Back in Middle School, I use to bring in a small propane grill in my backpack, and would cook buffalo wings and other goodies that I would sell on campus.
IIRC, my usual price was $5 for three buffalo wings, two stalks of celery, and one of those half-sized sodas. Profit Pre-2008 was something along the lines of $1.50 or $1.75 per sale.
Another thing I would make was a variety of beef jerkys, ranging from simple stuff like beef and venison, to more ~fancy~ stuff like salmon. For like three sticks of normal beef jerky, I could make $6 to $10. The usual jerky recipe I used for 97% lean thin steaks.
- 3 Cups of Warm Briny Water
- 3 Spoons of Teriyaki Sauce
- 2 Spoons of A1 Steak Sauce
- 1/2 Spoon of Cayenne Pepper
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 1/4th Can of Diced Pineapple(use 1/6th of the Can's Pineapple Juice)
Combine all the ingredients together into a bowl, and then take your 97% lean thin steaks, and mix them into the juices, and prick them a tad with a toothpick. Allow them to marinate standing for 45 Minutes, and then put into the fridge for another three to four hours.
Once slightly marinated, take them, and cut them into the sizes you wish, but remember that they shrink by about 20% during dehydration. Before putting them on a dehydrator or smoker, run them through the oven at 200F(90C) for two minutes on each side of the meat. The meat should have a slight warmth and dryness on the outside, this is good.
Now take the meat, and put it on your smoker or dehydrator. I personally use dehydrators, so my method may not be applicable to smokers...
After the meat is on the smoker, make sure to check it every 45 to 60 minutes, lightly padding off moisture that comes to the top, and flipping the meat every two hours. Within 12 or 16 hours, the meat should be beef jerky. Yay beef jerky.
It's not the children's choice to purchase the candy - this man is VIOLATING THEIR RIGHTS AND FORCING THEM TO BECOME OVERWEIGHT.
This man is provoking the downfall of society.
Pfft, I had a supermarket with a very well stocked deli counter and a McDonalds literally across the road from my school. Granted though, the school had a policy where only senior students(15/16+) were allowed go there, but there wasn't any obesity in mind, it was just to stop flooding the supermarket with kids and keep good relations with the local area.
Let's all not forget about what's really important here.
The photographs show the man selling 500ml bottles of fizzy drinks for 50p and bags of crisps for 30p, half the price they can be bought for in shops.
I'll leave the rest of the idea for you guys.

Given the size of the operation in the photos, I'd assume he's buying wholesale and the amount he sells allows his profit margin per item to be slim.
Heh, theres a kebab vendor just outside of my schools grounds. He even came to the school yard and sold there when there was a school party. It is actually a pretty convenient vendor, since the cantina is quite pricey, and the kebab is fukin delicious
i think its a decent idea to have street vendors like these, although I dont know about a candy-only vendor
if this was in the states he'd be in guantanamo faster than you can say "allahu ackbar"
Or in this case, allahu snackbar
bloody ell thats cheap as fuck
Maybe cheap because hes in a school and lot of people buy it?
Shit I don't know
I wish we had something like this, but in our school we can't even leave the lunchroom without a pass. The doors to get outside are usually watched by a teacher to make sure we don't try to leave.
Christ that sound's like a Prison more so than a School.

The McDonalds is so close to the school, it wouldn't let me zoom in enough in the satellite view.
Capitalism at it's finest. The liberals took away all the snacks and vending machines, so this man is filling in the gap in the market.
If your child gets fat, it's not because of some guy selling an after school snack/soda. Your child fat because of overall diet and lack of exercise.
All good things in moderation is good for the soul. Pay careful attention to the moderation part.
Well, there was a small shop near my school (literally 30 steps from the school gates) everyone used to go to for sweets. Around 5 years ago they replaced it with a beer shop. Yep.
Even better
