It's pretty standard for schools around where I live.
Lots of people get around it by walking over to the nearby gas station as soon as they get off the bus.
heh, i have a snack store only 500 meters from my school, and a normal store is a kilometer away
anyways, not all snacks and candy cause obesity(i'm buying snacks, eat unhealthy food, and i don't have obesity), and we should thank geniuses who banned them
also in my cafeteria, they're selling chocolate bars from under the table
I wish I had a decent snack vendor at my school.
Also went the hell are parents complaining about catering to obesity when there isn't a single damn obese kid in the picture?
If they are so worried about kids becoming obese why not actually turn the lunchcards into something which also moderates the intake of carbs, calories, and sugar and salts. That way, kids can say have a small cheeseburger with some fries, and actually not feel bad about screwing up their diet. Oh and at the same time they are not forced to eat inserts from Jamie Oliver's new book - How to Force Children to Eat food that's not even served in our Prisons!
You will not win a war against obesity unless you start to make kids conscious of what they eat and consume. Likewise you shouldn't make them feel like shit for wanting to have a nice cheeseburger or turkey twizzler once in a long while.
I actually never saw a single problem with foods that Jamie Oliver was pushing. What exactly was wrong with them?

Not worth it. After a while, you figure out that the only thing worth the price are the one euro burgers which you can get at 23:00 because no other place is really open anymore. Everything else just isn't worth the price ratio.

All in a close enough distance to go during a break (need a long break for some but still).
That's two supermarkets yes.
Also city center is like 20 minutes (on foot) away to the left of the map which has all the fast food restaurants, four more supermarkets and for those of my friends who were into it six coffee shops.
