Rape Declared a "Pre-Existing Condition" by Insurance Company

i hate insurance companies
Remember any business exists for the purpose of trying to make a profit.
Exactly. They're in direct competition against you. They maximize profit by paying out as little as possible. There is nothing that a private insurance company does that saves anyone money or make anyone healthier, for that reason alone.
This is just evil, whoever thought up of not helping out a proven rape victim and won't give them health insurance really need to die...
ONLY IN AMERICA.
She could come up to Canada, we'd take care of her better. :q:
My belief in the goodness of humanity has been shattered. Again.
This is the money she could have saved if she didn't get raped

Lesson learned, don't get raped
You like money? He is money.
Um, she has HIV. It's kind of like getting in a car accident without insurance, and then getting insurance the next week and asking for the insurer to fix your car.
Suck it up and pay for it yourself.
Too many people expect everything to be free.

Another car analogy. Getting in a car wreck makes you a bigger risk to insurance companies, thus lowering your chances of being insured.
It's health INSURANCE not "I'll pay for your drugs"

Maybe you forgot the part where she had insurance when she supposedly got HIV...
But months later, when she lost her health insurance and sought new coverage, she ran into a problem.
The insurance company doesn't care that you were insured by somebody else when it happened.
RRRRRRRRAGHGHGHGHGH I HATE INSUREANCE COMPANIYES FIGHT THE POWER etc
ooh boy this client might have AIDS and is on HIV meds right now
lets definitely insure her, she TOTALLY isn't a drain on our company
raaaghghghg so mad
THIS is why we need public health insurance.
Seriously
You got to remember that Insurance is a business, the company's that offer it are first and foremost in it to make money you get rid of this and the situation will improve. anyone in our government who argues this is socialist and bad for this country is ether a lobbyist for the company's that stand to lose billions or a complete idiot (both are in the realm of possibility).
It'll be nice if Obama's health care plan works out, so then it'll be illegal for insurance companies to deny coverage due to pre-existing conditions.
This is depressing.
Everything is so commercialized, the difference is noticeable from even 10 years ago.
:wtc:
This makes me sick.

Yeah, it should be illegal for somebody to refuse business, even if they end up losing money.
I should sue those sick bastards at McDonalds for not selling me a burger.

Yea because buying food should be exactly like getting health care.

Yeah, we should tell a privately owned business that they have to accept all potential customers regardless of whether or not they can afford to cover them.
They have an infinite supply of money for people to buy drugs with you know.

Health Insurance Companies make plenty money to insure people with "pre-existing" conditions. I could understand a cost increase if the condition is self inflicted(lung cancer due to smoking, or heart disease caused by obesity), but no one should ever be denied health coverage.
death to all health insurance companies. drag the ceos from their offices and execute them in the middle of a hospical filled with terminally ill patients.
Hello FBI agents reading this! How are you doing today?

It isn't just their fault, it's the entire system. Every politician who gets lobbied by these assholes. I think we should take away their health care for a couple years and see how they like it.

lol thats dumb. i really want uhc so there are people (mostly the poor and the like) that aren't beholden to the whims of insurance companies.
That's ridiculous. Denying rape victims health insurance. What the hell is the world coming to?
Well, I was watching Dragon's Den on CBC today, and the guy in the middle only cares about money. First thing he says is "How is this going to make me tons of profit?" or "You want a business that drips cash."
Seems that's all the people who run these kinds of businesses care about: money, money, and more money. Even if they are already billionaires, they always want more.

Well the thing is, that's probably how they got into that position in the first place. Caring about money.

Well, yeah, but these people care about money a little too much.

Yea, we should let insurance companies take your money, then deny to pay for your cancer treatment due to pre existing conditions.

You see, I don't care about greed in most industries, but I do not think greed should be in health care. It's too important of a service to be denied due to lack of funds.
I don't get people who can read crap like this and still be against social healthcare. In MOST of the first world, this woman would get her drugs free of charge, with no questions asked, not because it's "profitable" or any shit like that, but because it's RIGHT.
Message from the rest of the world:
Grow up America. ( Even Cuba has got it's shit together at this stage )

You're just as bad as those banking managers and their bonus deals, whilst the rest of the world is being crippled due to financial shortages.
If you put money infront of welfare (AKA Materialistic objects over human lives) then you're just the scum of the earth.
