Lulu Island
I am the water table
I live in Mississauga. Power was out here for about 80% of the city from 5PM to 11PM. Was a total bitch too, because I was outside at the city center when the storm hit, without an umbrella. I never knew I could feel so cold in the middle of summer.
Living in Mississauga, father lived in Toronto. The rain was absolutely dreadful couple of hours ago. All though it looked pretty, in a way. Power went out yesterday too, had to use candles and flash lights. Hope everyone in this situation gets better, and not a lost car or flooded basement. :v:
Power finally came back at 2AM and I was able to charge my phone.
Goddamn, hope everyone's OK in Canada.
My next-door neighbours had their water pipes burst due to a spark caused by the outage, and me and my family had to help them remove the water with buckets. It was really bad, all the water submerging their furniture and other belongings. While power may be back on for 95% of the city now, their house technically doesn't have power in it, as they're borrowing power from our garage.
Man I had no internet all of yesterday because of that storm. Candlelit Whose Line was something I've never experienced before, though.
So I'm sitting there, playing CS:GO on my PC when suddenly the power goes out. I tell myself it's ok, because I still have a PS3. Then I begin to panic.
Apparently this may not be over, God appears pissed that the TTC is actually running still and plans to piss all over us again today.
Apparently this may not be over, God appears pissed that the TTC is actually running still and plans to piss all over us again today.
The thunder just started rumbling here (west of Toronto). Hope it's not as bad as yesterday
In other news, another storm is coming tomorrow.
I had a good friend of mine get stuck in the middle of one of the floods in his car. still doesn't have it back.
The company I work for has a Toronto office. They were able to get to work, but the power was out. The only guy there was the IT guy in Toronto, so he was using a UPS / Laptop combo to do work. When it did come on, there were power problems, so our emails (it's sent to the operations group) are spammed with "torups did xx"
