My wildlife teacher said to us that people were throwing their pet pythons into the wild because either they couldn't afford it or they got too big. They're an invasive species, and basically he said to kill them on sight to help contain the problem.
Not true. They were released when hurricane Andrew hit a breeder/importer facility. Genetic testing was done and they all came from the same source.
Saw title. . .immediately called Eric Idle to warn him.
a friend of mine's dad is doing this pretty interesting way to do this!
Pythons are a serious problem.
They certainly are in parts of Florida, and aren't even native
Don't decapitate, huh? Hip-hip hooray, it's python stomping day!
I don't think 500 people can fight off an entire species.
impress your friends with the size of your python!
Don't be mean. They're not red necks, they just care.
I went to the glades today and seen a few gators, and just to put it in perspective That's a python that ate a gator. Yes, they get that big.
how did you not get eaten
how did you not get eaten
If you mean avoiding consumption by the local fauna its simple, don't fuck with them. Alligators are pretty chill just don't try and touch them or throw rocks and shit, they'll get pissy quick. But that picture was from a news article from like 2006. I would love to take part, it would be interesting to go after large snakes in the wild. Not to mention I would be helping out the ecosystem and getting free pelts and meat.
