I feel like if Trump is executed for his crimes he would become a martyr, plus I don't believe in capital punishment. I can't wait to see Trump and co locked up for the rest of their lives.
To be honest, not only do I agree, I don't want to see this asshole be made into a martyr, but also:
I want this asshole to be locked away forever, only to have him be forced to watch his stupid little financial "empire", all his businesses completely fall to ashes while he has absolutely no control over it. Because a victory like that would honestly be so much sweeter. Having him locked up knowing he not only managed to lose the Oval Office, but absolutely everything his father, and the rest of his family worked to accomplish.
Looks like your enemy just declared checkmate in your 4D chess game, you idiotic twat. :smug:
Bobby M personally attended the Bannon interview

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. There are no depths to which Trump won't sink to avoid being held to account for his crimes. He would happily shred the constitution and every principle we hold sacred if it meant avoiding even the tiniest amount of damage to his monstrous ego.
Bottom line, we need to be prepared for everything. If Trump tries to spontaneously declare war on North Korea, or calls for civilian militias to protect him, or censors U.S. media outlets under the pretense "fake news," or attempts any other desperate stunt to avoid political downfall, we need to be out in the streets marching and calling for his impeachment before he finishes the fucking sentence. We need to flood every bus, train, and jetliner going to Washington DC, and not leave until he comes out of the White House in cuffs.
Honestly, I don't see any way that the President of the United States is sentenced to death.
No matter what he does, I just don't see how that could happen. Prison for life (probably solitary for safety) is the worst he'll get imo.
I think people are getting the wrong idea about what prison would be like for Trump and friends. As entertaining as the vision of them spending the rest of their lives in a dank cell miserable and penniless is, I very much doubt that they'll have anything even close to the same prison experience as you or I would. Unfortunately I fear they'll still have it far too good even behind bars.

I've actually been wondering something. The president is the head of our military. So does that mean a president getting convicted of crimes would go to a military prison? Cause I don't see that being very enjoyable at all. Though in Trump's case in particular any prison is going to be hell for him even if it's still better than what he deserves. He'd have more freedom and comfort than other prisoners but it wouldn't be the opulence he's used to at all.

Nah. He's a civilian. You don't try civilians in military tribunals.
Also, you're never gonna get Trump on treason. That's a really serious charge that would be very hard to prove in court unless he did something truly wild like sell state secrets to Putin directly.
If Trump is convicted of his crimes, I doubt he'd get anything terrible as death penalty. He hasn't personally killed anyone nor has he performed acts like a dictator to try and keep his power (cleansing and such). He'll definitely spend the rest of his life in some sort of prison but I highly doubt it will be a generic prison. Probably off by himself in some upscale holding facility

Or he actually attempts to flee then God knows what will occur
Nah. He's a civilian. You don't try civilians in military tribunals.
That's too bad. It'd be kinda ironic for someone who dodged the draft in the way he did.

No but conspiracy and obstruction charges are going to be quite easy to get him on the way it's going.

Maybe they can outfit his cell with the gold plated toilet made in his "honor?"

If it were up to me, I'd send him to Gitmo (assuming proper conviction yadda yadda). Seems fitting, though I can't quite explain why.
Could be interesting...

EDIT: There's an interesting story on Twitter, but since CNN doesn't fit the source criteria, I don't know if it's kosher to post it here. But, it's a pretty big development (you can see it on the same Twitter profile) and it's one of Donald Trump's "red lines" for Mueller being crossed. If a better source reposts the story, one of us can make a thread about it.
...Probably a good time to repost this! :v:

(Not that I think Trump would be stupid enough to try anything super soon in the next few days, but you get the idea.)
There are a couple of huge stories circulating right now that can't be posted because they don't meet our source criteria. I'll be watching for confirmation from a more credible agencies, but yowza.
Obstruction of justice is a definite possibility as well.
Considering he admitted to obstruction of justice on television I feel like this is more likely
Obstruction of justice is basically a given at this point. The question is what else will be coming his way?
The other question is, will he get a Nixon-style pardon on his way out? I feel like some people might think that's for the better - it makes sure there's an orderly transition of power, makes it almost impossible for his supporters to deny wrongdoing, and might let the country focus on other problems. I wouldn't go for it myself - I think it's more important justice be seen to be done, and for the Russian interference to remain a public matter until we've dealt with it fully - but it's wouldn't be outright wrong for Pence (or Ryan, or Hatch, etc., depending on how deep this goes) to calculate otherwise.
I doubt he'd pardon his way out. They won't sentence him to death, but disenfranchising the entire population with a self pardon in support of a foreign government is a fantastic way to get dead. He is much better off just facing the charges.
I'm actually betting on money laundering is what Mueller will get him on. Gates and Manafort are both in on that and Trump was desperate for money for a while.
I know I'm probably not the first to ask this but is there any, y'know, one-stop-shop that outlines all of these connections in a way I can explain to my parents?
They're firmly in the "no evidence" camp and they won't budge. And I don't have the stamina to counter all of the Clinton and Obama deflections.

I'm pretty sure there's some conspiracy charges up there as well as well as fraud charges and (i hope) treason coming his way.
Trump will live out the rest of his days and die in a cold cell like he deserves.

Not really, no. I've spent hours and hours working to convince people that Russian hacking actually happened, because I have to explain what phishing is, how the malware was known to be custom, the blatantly political set of targets that the malware targeted (who tries to hack the Georgian Ministry of Defense???), the malware metadata tying it to the Russian language and normal M-F 9-5 business hours in Russia and St. Petersburg, and all sorts of shit. And then, sometimes, they still aren't convinced.
And that doesn't even get started with Manafort's role as a paid Russian agent in Ukraine, Carter Page's blatant connection to the anonymous Rosneft privatization, Roger Stone's connection to Wikileaks, Julian Assange's money troubles leading to an appeal to Russia (including his show on RT), Manafort/Gates' money laundering and fraud operations, Trump's deep connections to Russian banking oligarchs, Manafort's push to change the GOP party platform to remove sanctions against Russia, the entire Cambridge Analytica targeted data program - and that's like 5% of the evidence.
No easy way to explain it all. If you try to cram everything in, you'll sound like a fucking insane conspiracy theorist to people who haven't been paying attention. I've gotten decent at explaining the evidence surrounding the hacking, but everything else? fucking christ that'd take weeks to explain.
"No evidence" is such a bullshit narrative anyway. The investigation is open, investigators have evidence than randoms don't.

I've kept a Google Doc of all the various news postings of his stupid shenanigans, as well as the Trump-Russia investigation, if you want it.

Holy shit.
It's funny, I actually tried to make a habbit of saving to Pocket every article I saw that had pretty damning evidence against the Trump administration as soon as he got sworn in.
I got overwhelmed and stopped a month in.
I am wondering, is it a possibility that Trump might try to run off to Russia when he know's he's going to be put infront of the courts. Another aspect im wondering about, since he has Top Secret access to _EVERYTHING_ , is there a chance he might be giving out that information to the Russians through different channels.

There's no way for him to evade his Secret Service agents.
There's no way for him to evade his Secret Service agents.
Well there is the Secret Service yeah, but lets just go with the thought that he'd jump on a plane and leave for Russia before he gets put infront of a jury.

That would be a death sentence for the Republican party. It would confirm everyone's suspicions and cause absolute chaos.
I'm less concerned with Trump facing justice right now as much as I am about how to get this country back on the right track and putting someone else in that office.

Knowing how afraid he is right now, I honestly wouldn't be too suprised with him trying to evade the consequences. I do hope it doesn't come to that. I really hope your citizens get the justice they deserve.
