tucker carlson constantly looks like he's trying to utilize psychic powers that he doesn't have
He seems to always be employing a "how can these people be eating this shit up" kind of face [editline]2nd March 2018[/editline]
So, uhhhhhhhhhhhhh Whatever happened to small government and the free market?
It got invonvinient for the republican propaganda machine
I suddenly have this urge to give all of my future air travel business to Delta Airlines if I ever fly anywhere they can take me.
The NRA absolutely should be cut off, eclipsed, shitcanned, and left to wallow in its own self victimizing tears for its last few years. Fuck 'em and fuck their predatory advertising. I've been brushing up on the history of the NRA and the whole narrative about it having once been of value but recently being hijacked by nutters (which I just accepted until recently, not really knowing any better) is absolute bullshit, its leadership and political goals have always been fucking insane. Maybe within the first few years of its founding it was really just a rifle club but no-one alive today coexisted with a worthwhile NRA. It helped draft Jim Crow style gun control laws in the 60s specifically designed to cut black people off from the right to own firearms. It has always been a racist, hateful little slime pit masquerading as a gun rights concern.
Unfortunately the NRA has shoehorned its way into every aspect of the firearms community. To the point that if I watch a few firearm related videos on youtube I get plastered with shitty NRA ads. They also hound people for donations even after you tell them to fuck off.
Delta has said that only thirteen people used the NRA discount. Georgia gutted A $40,000,000 tax break to punish a company for ending a politically divisive discount program that only thirteen people utilized.
I will shed no tears over a corporate tax break but that doesn't make any sense.
I will shed no tears over a corporate tax break but that doesn't make any sense.
I had the same opinion too but apparently most cities will subsidize airlines that are headquartered in there. In other news, sky blue, water wet, Trump tweeting.
"I don't get discounts for having a gun anymore? I'm being attacked!" Christ, what babies. What even is the reasoning behind getting discounts for being an NRA member anyway? Especially for stuff like flying, which has nothing to do with guns? Am I being oppressed because Delta won't give me a discount flight to an anime convention? Oh, wait, no, there is no reasoning besides faux-patriotic ferver.
I'm sure patriotism was part of it at the start, but it's all boiled down to selfishness. To keep their coffers full, they have to convince people to give them so many dollars a month for membership, so to do that, they "sweeten the deal" by negotiating with other businesses to somehow provide discounts for their members because it means they'll use that service more so it's more business? It is weird, but that's how shit works in Capitalist America. [editline]3rd March 2018[/editline]
You have to be incredibly stupid or purposefully disingenious to say these companies are attacking the second amendment by dropping business with the NRA
After arguing with countless people on the topic, I can say with confidence that there are at least a few of the types who seem to interpret any conversation involving "gun" and "we will not allow" that makes them nervous as hell. [editline]3rd March 2018[/editline]
Welcome to Georgia, where spite is more important than the state's citizens or economy.
Well, technically, it's removal of a tax break so they're basically telling Delta "Don't do the thing you are totally within your legal power to do because it'll make me mad and I'll start charging you more money!" and Delta said what effectively, though more elegantly, translates into "lol k fine then we don't care".

Which I hope happens, but that's because I'm spiteful. It wouldn't change ANY opinions in this state, it would still be a hard red state and likely will forever, but it would hurt our government and I'm fine with any bloody nose they can get.

I doubt Delta will move and I'd be surprised if there aren't backroom talks to get the tax break back into play but Delta moving and taking their 30,000 jobs to another state for an equal or greater tax break would be incredible.
