Poll: Obama and Hillary Clinton "most admired" people in Americans' eyes

So 1 out of 5 people choose Obama over other competing brands?
this makes no sense why is a president of a country most admired
none of the people i know would even consider obama as any form of idol
WHICH IS PART OF THE IGNORED DEMOGRAPHIC ON THIS DUMB FUCKING POLL

You do realize that pollsters end up making 15,000+ calls for regions that go up to 500,000 just to get at least 1,000 responses? Even if you end up taking your time and talking to them over the phone, many would just see them as annoying as telemarketers. They can never effectively encompass the entire region with just samples.
Oh, pollsters are such scientific prodigies.

So your criticism is an unsourced claim that they make more calls then they end up using in their sample.
Their sample is still representative of the country's demographic makeup.
both polls would be bashed for equal reasons - bias. usually when someone puts out a poll such as this, they have a specific demographic and put out that poll with the intention of collecting results which support their own agenda or opinions.
for example, someone who prefers basketball over baseball would put up the poll somewhere where basketball is more popular than baseball by far. inversely, someone who prefers baseball will put up the same poll somewhere where baseball is more popular.
typically the polls that say the majority disprove of obama were intentionally posed toward a demographic usually known to disprove of obama, say people who watch Fox News for a blunt example. for an equally blunt example, a poll saying that the majority love obama would have been aimed for a demographic known to love obama, such as on the CNN website.
I expected better from you, this is a Gallup poll. They don't target demographics to influence the results, they're scientists.
So your criticism is an unsourced claim that they make more calls then they end up using in their sample.
Because many of their calls go unheard, or they just hang up.

Okay, and how does that impact the other part of my post. The fact that the sample still ends up being a representative one?
It doesn't matter if I fail to do 20 verification procedures on a test sample, the 200 I still manage are still representative of the purified contents of the whole aliquot.

Low response rates can turn a poll to shit. If you end up doing 1 to 20 that actually respond or even 1 to 50 in any region you're going to get a small group and another huge group that goes in another category.

What? Can you revise that so it's actually proper English?
Oh, I think I get what you mean. No, that's not how it works; I somehow doubt that there would be a large political correlation that influences them not answering their phone.

Polling science takes this into account and factors it into the margin of error
So 1 out of 5 people choose Obama over other competing brands?
Now with 50% more black!
Polling science takes this into account and factors it into the margin of error
Oh yeah forgot about the sampling error.
Okay. Don't need to be such a militant about the science of making calls.
I thought it was going to be Gabe Newell
Okay. Don't need to be such a militant about the science of making calls.
someone has to because apparently 97% of FPers don't understand how polling works
Oh yeah forgot about the sampling error.

Someone not having even the most rudimentary understanding of polling is just as insulting as someone not having a rudimentary understanding of gravity
You guys need to stop bashing gleen beck.
In MY OPINION, glen beck is a fucking genius! HE should be president. He also expose Obama as the facist traitor he is!
Palin was a contender for "most admired?!"

You guys need to stop sucking his dick.
It's funny because in other polls states that more than 50% of Americans disprove of what Obama is doing in the White House.
What's more funny is that facepunch would bash that poll and not this one.
The sampling error in this poll is +/- 4%, which is pretty good.
why the fuck is bush admired more than clinton?
Republicans.
[editline]29th December 2010[/editline]
The democrats voted on Obama over Clinton, hence Bush hops on ahead.
