Looks like it might be the US and France bombing Syria then

Don't forget Turkey!
Had we not already been engaged in a decade long war I'd be inclined to agree with you.
This is the thing though, no one is calling for another decade long war based on dodgy evidence and crazy US policy. This could (in theory, just like Iraq could have been a cake walk in theory) have been quite quick.

I do agree with that, and after the Libyan strikes had a positive effect I wouldn't say no to precision actions like that. Full on War though, is not something I'd want to see.
Yeah good idea lets just let everyone break international law and the geneva convention whenever they want.
North Korea's been doing things which are just as bad for decades and no one has given a shit so far.
What he should have said was "It was clear the Parliament and the rest of the uk does not want action"
North Korea's been doing things which are just as bad for decades and no one has given a shit so far.
This is the exact reason why they carry on doing that shit, no one has punished them for it.
The only reason this hasn't passed is because they're still waiting for the U.N to make its report on the weekend.
The Obama administration is biding its time and doing the same.
Please act accordingly, by shutting the fuck up and sitting down.
Nobody wants to get into this war.
including the innocent people trapped on the ground in the middle of this war

The UN haven't even finished gathering evidence and finding out who actually launched this last chemical attack, there is just as much evidence suggesting the rebels have been responsible for previous chemical attacks as there is to suggest the Government have been responsible for chemical attacks.

How can we choose which side to support when we have constant conflicting reports? It's better just to stay out of it all together if the reality is that both sides have probably used chemical weapons at this point.
What he should have said was "It was clear the Parliament and the rest of the uk does not want action"
He said Parliament was 'reflecting the views of the British people'

Hello I am part of the UK and I believe that military action may be required. Please don't generalize like that.
The only reason this hasn't passed is because they're still waiting for the U.N to make its report on the weekend.
There was a seperate motion calling for us to wait for the UN to make its report, that motion failed spectacularly.
North Korea's been doing things which are just as bad for decades and no one has given a shit so far.
North Korea has had a nuclear shield from china for decades which has given them free reign to do what the fuck they want, now they have nukes and even china is thinking they're getting too big for their britches

The UN inspectors are not going to be able to say who did it, they have already said this is impossible. That is down to the intelligence agencies of various countries. Which I must say, if the JIC report is to be believed (its hard to believe stuff when the actual intel is secret for obvious reasons) the attacker has already been decided.
According to BBC Newschannel 2 Conservatives failed to vote because they were "accidentally at a meeting"
Oh man it would have been even closer
That's such a typical British political excuse, just like that one time that MP threw those documents in a park bin, and he later said he regretted it and that he "shouldn't have allowed" the papers to be dumped, it's like they're not really in control of themselves, or that they're two people at the same time
There was a seperate motion calling for us to wait for the UN to make its report, that motion failed spectacularly.
I think that's because of its wording of other parts, it pretty much said that should a UN resolution fail military action might still be an option. Nobody voting tonight wanted to possibly allow the government to use military action.
I assume they would want real evidence before even considering supporting something like that.

The entire Tory front bench wanted to allow the use of military action.

I assume theirs going to be a lot of swingers if the UN blames Assad. The vote was pretty close as it is without there report.
The entire Tory front bench wanted to allow the use of military action.
I dunno, I would say 24 hours ago they did. I think they calmed down a lot today. Hence the rewording of the motion.
Why does it have be America and Britain that HAS to intervene, we sure as fuck are not the only country's that are capable of going in there and yet no one else ever wants to take the reigns.
No, but seriously. America can handle this... Why have two countries waste their money?
This just in, THE U.S. CONGRESS DEEMS WAR TO BE PROFITABLE, ALL VOTES FOR YES. PUBLIC OUTRAGED, IGNORED (as usual).
Why don't we increase ourselves before decreasing others
Im torn over this, Cameron gave some pretty points earlier today, he's a really good speaker

He's also an idiot.
Obama is shooting himself in the foot..
I dont wanna be that guy either but we're probably going in alone..

Because those countries governments listen to their people.

Because we should be standing up on principle, defending international law, and not giving a shite about other countries too weak to help?
Oh, but that's us now. Too bloody scared to do anything. Worried about what might happen if we defend our principles against those who would break them.
No, but seriously. America can handle this... Why have two countries waste their money?
What a weak position. Perhaps because we should be standing together as the first world to oppose atrocities like this?
We should have waited until evidence had come back on the use of these weapons, found out who did it, and then acted upon the evidence. Saying "we're not going to do anything regardless" is utterly, utterly spineless.
Didnt they said they were going to wait until the investigation is finished?
Am I the only wanting the regime to be punished?
I am amazed how the UK is okay with stupid shit in the UK as the whole part of the war on terror which causes even more terrorism. But now when a government break international laws and attack innocent people with CHEMICAL WARFARE than they want to stay out of it.
Even France is down and most likely the US. Calm on now.

It would be pretty easy unlike the war against terrorists, as the terrorists groups are pretty liquid.

It might be an election thing in all honesty, the general election is soon and public opinion on Syria is very much against any sort of long-term military commitment it's just to win votes.
If your party was responsible in getting your feet into another possibly long winded war that could go all sectarian afterward they aren't likely to get votes.
