As long as it isn't a hamfisted nostalgia trip like TFA was ('Member chewbacca!'), I'm interested. Glover is a pretty capable actor.
C'mon lads, it's not like Lando is an extremely nuanced character. He was the black guy in ESB for the sake of being the black guy, Glover is going to do fine as him, there's not much to go off.
not canon
So? You don't have to make a movie that draws completely on existing canon. Then you're not making anything new.
I just binged watched all of Donald Glover's Atlanta and I have to say, he is a very good actor that I think could pull of the Lando role very well. Can't wait to see him on the big screen.
There was that actor that played a younger version of Ford's Character in Age of Adaline. Looks just like a young Ford and even was able to have the same mannerisms as Ford. I guess the filmmakers didn't like him due to not having a lot of experience in the industry.
holy shit
How about we get some movies with new characters though, i'd love to see a force unleashed or an old republic movie
both of those things would involve old characters, just not ones from the movies and really, anything involving lando's past is gonna be mostly new characters since we know he didn't see han for a long time and had zero contact with any other character that we're aware of before episode 5
holy shit
this is perfect
I still doubt that Ingruber would have been the best choice. Sure, he looks the part and can do a decent job but it doesn't go much further than that. Doing a burly voice and smiling at a woman is one thing, but as an actor he can't hold a candle to Ehrenreich.
holy shit
It's a good impression of Harrison Ford but it doesn't look very natural.
It's a good impression of Harrison Ford but it doesn't look very natural.
Once he's been rehearsing and pretending to be Harrison Ford long enough, it'll get way better. It also helps to be just as much of a smartass
So? You don't have to make a movie that draws completely on existing canon. Then you're not making anything new.
it's not "so?" as far as Disney is concerned. the Force Unleashed was a power fantasy, nothing more, and the main (and sole) idea of the franchise was that the player was an extremely OP Force-equipped death machine - everything else was secondary, which was why the story was a flat crock of shit that shamelessly shoehorned the player character into pre-Ep4 events. and there is only so much overdone, blatantly CG jedi trickery that you can cram into an actual feature film before it gets dull; unstoppable mary sues, the sort that a proper Force Unleashed experience requires, don't make very exciting movie characters.
People dont want new characters, they want new adventures with the characters they know and love. Part of what makes Star Wars Star Wars is its characters. Plus most people who see Star Wars movies have no idea what KotoR is or who Star Killer is.
then make them learn what is KotoR and what Star killer is? I don't know, maybe show them? We wouldn't have any movie if it worked like that. Show them KotoR with a movie about it presenting the universe, character just like the first star wars? You know, take risk! The name Star wars will be a success in itself so no risk taken.
I hope we get a movie that's like that 1313 game that was canceled
At this point I just want a Ben Kenobi spinoff with Ewan McGregor. He was one of the few actors in the prequel trilogy that really nailed their role other than Ian McDiarmid.
Oh he is the guy from Community! Sweet!
How about we get some movies with new characters though, i'd love to see a force unleashed or an old republic movie
Somewhere in Hollywood a boardroom of executives is hissing wildly.

Do you continue printing out billion dollar movies using the same formula, or do you abandon the formula and basically move to a completely different IP but under the same name? Pretty easy answer there dood. People dont know what Kotor is and nobody is really keen to learn. Just because the Star Wars name is tacked to it doesnt mean that it will be successful.
Ah yes, Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino AKA The King of Soundcloud mashup memes. Seriously though, I could not think of a better choice, he's a fantastic actor and I think he will do the role justice. Also check out Atlanta, it's a great series.
Fuck a Han Solo movie, give me a Lando movie. We already know about Han's backstory.
But we don't know about his blackstory, :smug:
not canon
I don't want TFU to be canon because it's dumb and I hate Starkiller as a character(even if I thought it was a fun game), but "it's not canon" isn't exactly a good reason to not make something canon. Look at Thrawn. He's canon now.
