Haha, are you kidding me? The Holocaust was NOTHING compared to what we did to the Indians.
stop saying "we". I'm not taking credit for something my ancestors weren't even involved in, let alone myself.
I'd say that massacre isn't as bad as imprisonment, torture, and massacre.
Look up Residential Schools. Basically imprisonment and torture right there. And there was massacre. The indigenous population of an entire continent was decimated by settlers.
That's like saying missing one leg is better than missing both.
I would definitely say that.

pretty much yeah. A couple of world powers too, not just one.
no, no they did not
yeah they did [editline]10:33PM[/editline]
I would definitely say that.
It still sucks missing any legs though
It still sucks missing any legs though
I'm not disagreeing, but your example is more of a case of "which sucks less?"
Well I just think it's funny as hell.
So we rounded up all of the Indians into camps with the intent of killing them to the last man, killing infants and the elderly and then subjecting those able to work to horrific experimentations that left them as rotting husks? Did we then force others of them at gunpoint to haul off the decaying bodies and burn them? Then did we force them to march through the dead of winter, resulting in horrific injuries? All that not for land, but simply for the elimination of their race? And all of that under the direct support of a major world power?
That's not what you said.
How is this different than Cowboys and Indians
Cowboys and Indians is more of a child's ignorance of history than a bunch of wankers trying to be edgy.
it's funny, you guys are trying to out-liberal each other
Funfact Adolf hitler played cowboys and indians with his brothers and sisters growing up. [editline]12:43AM[/editline]
it's funny, you guys are trying to out-liberal each other
ya
:siren:Hello here. I'm from the area, I go to class nearby, allow me to clarify.:siren: Ever hear of the game fugitives? Here it is if you're not famliar. It's basically cops and robbers, with the team of cops driving cars, and the robbers running on foot. In my town they occasionally play this at night. The kids meet at the school to divide into teams, and then they play with the destination at one of the parks nearby. The game doesn't play at the school. The game was only given the name once and it came from a jewish kid who was on the fugitives team. No harm done. Now here's where it's stupid. The kids who played, and were found through facebook, are now being held from graduation. That's right, they're being kept from highschool graduation because one of their friends came up with a silly name for a game that they didn't even play at school. How fucked up is that?
political correctness is what gives the masses the idea that they are intellectuals
Haha owned! But it's true, that's not fair about being held from graduation.
Oh, to make it worse, the area is full of rich conservative old people who take major offense to this when they read about it in the newspaper. It was the blown up, top headline in saturday's paper. The media made it seem much, much worse because they know how to exploit the audience out here.
pretty much yeah. A couple of world powers too, not just one.
What the US government did the Native Americans was more of a violent relocation. There were several atrocities, but nothing on the scale of a systematic annihilation. I'm not saying the natives didn't suffer, I'm just saying they lost their land instead of every shred of pride they had shortly before a painful death.
That's pretty messed up. Makes me think of my school and how every time a fight breaks out, news teams and cops are there asap. This doesn't seem to be the case for other schools, but this one has had a history of racial violence, which makes a good story.
@dogmachines well when you get that specific it depends on which tribe I'd have to give most indian slaughter points to the spanish and british
Also, here they teach a very in-depth holocaust curriculum in the school systems and focus heavily on tolerance. The idea is that kids are desensitized about it to the point where they can laugh at it, like racism. There's also a huge-ass gay community here, so tolerance peaks. Indio High School nearby has the racial violence, not this school.
Face it, your country fucked up once upon a time.
oh you're english fuck off with the whole bad history crap

I know the French at least tried to cooperate and make friends, unless that was just the Acadians. Who also went through some terrible shit at the hands of the British

The Holocaust was just better documented.
us english were the worst and we haven't apologized for shit

The British didn't follow through on a single promise, of course.
us english were the worst and we haven't apologized for shit
at least the US apologized :fsmug:
It's absolutely unacceptable that they be held from graduation because of this. I believe that today, schools' authority stretches too far in the wrong directions and not far enough in the right. Let's not even discuss the issue of schools' budget...
Let's not even discuss the issue of schools' budget...
But we can! Guess how many tenured teachers got force-retired at a nearby school! Guess how many were too young to retire so they just got fired anyway!
maybe kids should play "beat the bigot"
We did all of those things to the indians except for gassing and maybe experimentation
Giving them disease-ridden blankets is kind of an experiment, right?
