they reversed it, the rest still stands
But did they unban server owners? Actions speak louder than words

Like i said. It was probably miscommunication between a select few who didnt tell anyone what they were doing.
They need to get their ship in shape though in regards to community communication problems. Time and time again this kills them, they need to figure this the fuck out.

I wonder if it would help Valve as a company, and its fanbase, if valve went public, them being private basically means they can do whatever the fuck they want and no one can say otherwise (especially when its a private company with a monopoly). public companies need to think about what they do in order to not have their stock prices collapse. Going public would also boost their communication with the community immensely through invester meetings and in general, though it would also mean that valve would probably push out games with less quality from shareholder pressure.

And business is booming.

Im sorry but that would honestly be the worst thing that could happen. Yeah they get weird and do some dumb shit sometimes but imagine if they actually had to answer to the whims of shareholders like fucking EA or Activision. While running the biggest digital distribution system on PC to boot.
EA or Activision.
oh how that easily reminds me of this [t]http://i.nofate.me/jpFiagu2.png[/t] an EA game more mod friendly than counterstrike [sp]When not managed by EA that is[/sp]
I realized something the other day. Valve is basically Nexon now.
I honestly wonder which gam- I mean, software company will take the crown of being the one that everybody loves and can do no wrong now that Valve is supporting it's microtransactions and competitive players like a junkie supporting their heroin addiction.
Square Enix is my new personal favorite. Valve lost the last bits of my respect after the paid mods incident.
so what, now its gone from "valve has fucked up and ostracized a lot of its users again" to "valve has fucked up and [something else]" (in this case, failing to have proper pr, again) what a surprise  on the other hand, valve really is innovative after all though. they find new and exciting ways to piss off more people with every headline they make lol

the unfortunate thing is that most of us will forget about this

Which solves nothing. [editline]29th January 2016[/editline]
they barley makes games anymore anyway
Factually incorrect.

They're trying to sweep it under the rug and hope this goes away while they can continue their current policies.
I want to see everyone unbanned who got banned from all this.

[editline]29th January 2016[/editline] Factually incorrect.
No matter how much you keep jerking Valve and your posts defending them off, the bottom line is that they're making a lot of shitty, terrible decisions and destroying what little die-hard fanbase they had left, even if the current issue is just a miscommunication. It's undeniable that they've devolved from the golden poster child of gaming to a company that has a reputation on the level of EA and Ubisoft without actually putting out as many games as they do, or really any at all. You can keep calling it blind hate but it's more like almost a decade of ever increasing, constant disappointment reaching the breaking point.

[editline]29th January 2016[/editline] i mean the fact that so many people are upset means valve has done something wrong. objective fact. cant not be denied. the only thing that can be debated is what, exactly, they fucked up.
I think the main issue with Valve is that all the really good employees that we all know and love are off doing stupid bullshit with VR or Steam Machines.
I think the main issue with Valve is that all the really good employees that we all know and love are off doing stupid bullshit with VR or Steam Machines.
The main issue is that Valve and friends doesn't really communicate anymore with their community. I don't know if it's just me, but very few people give a shit about VR. That's a communication issue. Plus there have been a ton of problems in the past that had to do with communication. Steam Winter Glitch R8 Revolver problem Skyrim Paid Mods (I really fucking hate them for this because they ruined a good thing.) Anything having to do with HL3 it's a shame that I don't remember anything past paid mods, but I know that this has been a problem since forever.
Valve has NEVER communicated, that's not a new issue.
Hey man stop blindly hating on valve. They still have the steam workshop in a few games, so they really truly and obviously care. :downs:
they havent exactly done anything right, here, though? they still fucked up. it just appeared to be a different fuck up at first. what have they done here that is actually good, again?
They made a fuckup thats their usual go-to fuckup and not a fuckup that contradicts something they've shown to support in the past. All you're doing is going "Valve is awful lol".
i mean the fact that so many people are upset means valve has done something wrong. objective fact. cant not be denied. the only thing that can be debated is what, exactly, they fucked up.
Yeah? Im not saying they didnt. Im complaining that all you're doing is going "lol get a load of these assholes trying to figure out why it happened"
No matter how much you keep jerking Valve and your posts defending them off, the bottom line is that they're making a lot of shitty, terrible decisions and destroying what little die-hard fanbase they had left, even if the current issue is just a miscommunication. There are other, more productive ways to help the problem than screaming the same three or four posts on an internet forum. I'll admit they're not as good as they were and need a kick in the ass but they're still not EA or Ubisoft level, thats absurd.
last game they made that wasn't dota 2 or csgo?
And why dont those count as games? Let me take a wild guess. Its not a game you like. Whoah. Stop the presses. They're not actually games that thousands and thousands of people play every day.
Hey man stop blindly hating on valve. They still have the steam workshop in a few games, so they really truly and obviously care. :downs:
Whoah cool zinger. Its like you're taking my point about them having supported modding beforehand as an example of why this issue might've been related to an internal lack of communication between employees as some sort of exoneration of all their sins, which somehow makes your point better than mine? Or that my "blindly hating Valve" comment was directly referring to you directly. [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] Maybe im not getting my point across clearly so let me make it simpler for you: Im not saying Valve did no wrong. Im saying you people need to stop with the gross hyperbole.
And why dont those count as games?
dota 2 and csgo are games but anyone can really tell you that those games don't count both of them use a free to play model, and are meant as an easy way to earn money for valve.
dota 2 and csgo are games but anyone can really tell you that those games don't count both of them use a free to play model, and are meant as an easy way to earn money for valve.
So... Theres absolutely no point to that argument is what you're saying? Alright, that helps me out i guess. I mean. If it quacks, if it has feathers, if it has a giant springy barbed rape penis, its a duck.

Just because it got its wing clipped by some asshole on a bike doesnt mean its not a duck.
are you okay the argument was originally that valve isn't innovative anymore, not that they weren't games. csgo and dota 2 aren't innovative, creativity wise.
are you okay the argument was originally that valve isn't innovative anymorenot that they weren't games. csgo and dota 2 aren't innovative, creativity wise.
lol no it wasnt. And if thats really the argument, i have to ask how and when you were awoken from your ice slumber, because im pretty sure the Vive counts.
