I feel bad for this guy. You can see the pain in his face in that picture.
The guy sitting next to Akbar is just going to spend his share of fast food. Look at him, damnit.
Only good thing about Bush was drone strikes were rare. Obama seems to love them, and even likes to joke about them a lot as well.

It's not a 'cool' joke, it'd be hypocritical to an extent if you raged at bush for his dumb "WMD joke" but didn't feel any sort of discomfort about Obama's.
his relatives should have used the cold-blooded perk
But, Starpluck, drones are the future of warfare, and when used to their potential have the ability to maximize damage on enemy targets, minimize civilian casualties, and save lives by identifying and reacting to potential threats before any soldiers are put at risk. Unmanned aerial vehicles are a blessing, man. Their biggest weakness is the judgement of the operating crew and mission commander, but as the technology behind UAVs grows more advanced, human error becomes less of a concern. I really don't see what's not to like about them. I actually have a lot of respect for Obama's ability to see the incredible potential of unmanned aerial systems, and for his push to fully incorporate them into the modern battlefield.

Maybe not a lot, but enough for it to be considered bad. Besides, they just creep me out

Drones can be used to surveil a suspected enemy, destroy the target, and keep a detailed record of the entire event to prove that it was justified. And if it wasn't justified? Well, there's a record of that too, and the people responsible will have to answer for it. They're the perfect tools of war!
Sure thing Akbar. I'll just take your word for it.
You don't have to believe him. His house being getting bombed even though it's outside the battlefield is proof enough.

I'm okay with that.

Me thinks they should tell this guy to shut the fuck up. [editline]3rd December 2010[/editline]
You don't have to believe him. His house being getting bombed even though it's outside the battlefield is proof enough.
Shit happens.

Yeah, sounds about right. Hey, nobody ever said UAV's were fun, ha. Though there's talk around these parts that they're converting the A-10 into a UAV, and that would be pretty darn cool. I'm making a prediction: this will our last generation of manned fighter jets, so those F-16 pilots have a reason to moan!

As someone who always wanted to be an Officer in the Air Force(had to change plans due to medical disqualifications), I'd be lying if I said I was totally fine with phasing out human pilots.
Great, now I feel sad about it.
Well, we can always play Ace Combat. Look! Up in the sky! It's that plane with a ribbon on its tail fin!
What the fuck he looks like Dustin Hoffman.

Only when they are used in conjunction of traditional military actions can they be a useful asset.
You may fly over a land forever; you may bomb it, atomize it, pulverize it and wipe it clean of life—but if you desire to defend it, to protect it, and keep it for civilization, you must do this on the ground, the way the Roman legions did, by putting your young men into the mud. - T.R.
Like nuclear weapons? Great advancement to minimize death
Nuclear weapons have been used offensively twice in the history of mankind, bringing their total death toll to over 150,000. However, the decision to use them ended with the unconditional surrender of a powerful nation, and the aversion of a war which would have claimed many times that. As for whether or not their existence has acted as a deterrence to war between the world's major players since then is arguable, but the fact that there has not been a war on the same scale as WWII since those bombs were dropped could be used as evidence to support the argument that the deadliest weapon ever made has led to a general terror of that power ever being unleashed again, and so an aversion to the massive wars of our past, and a mostly united global effort to prevent that from ever happening again. As for the future of nuclear weaponry, nobody can say exactly what will happen. It's scary to think what could happen, but I'm not entirely interested in speculating on the "what-if's" of a nuclear war that every major nation on the globe is working actively to prevent. People have been swapping "nuh-uhs" for "uh-huhs" for five pages in the nuclear weapons thread in GD, so if you're itching for further argument on the subject, there are tons of people who'd oblige you. I'm not too into that scene, though.
Double-post.
What if Wikileaks was trying to tell us something like this
