Skintones are different because of the climate. We're not all going to be a brown colour one day.

Yeah I know quite some time has passed but what the hell.
This war shouldn't take too long.
... Right?
It's gonna be the same sort of fighting as it was in WW2, not saying it will be a world war here btw, just that it'll be down to attrition and how efficient each sides weapons are.
Either way both koreas will be comprised of smouldering rubble and a lot of craters.

Taking bullshit? They have been trying to avoid a war that would kill millions.

On the other topic, I'm pretty sure Depleted Uranium is relatively safe. They are used in the shells of the bullets fired by the GAU-8 (If that's its name).
DU can still be toxic. Nevertheless, there's no better kinetic energy penetrator than DU, except maybe a tungsten penetrator packed with a solid-fuel rocket.

Meanwhile, I don't get why everyone assumes Artillery means large bore guns with only a 10km range(Well short of Seoul from the DMZ) when they mean 170mm and 240mm Rocket Artillery(Actual Rocket Artillery, not that 40mm bottle rocket shit the Palestinians use) with ranges of 45-70km.
Meanwhile least we forget even if their Artillery could be stopped (with well placed nuclear devices being the only real way), the Republic of Korea and United States Forces Korea's leaked war plan stating that North Korea can kill up to 38% of Seoul's Population (Or 4,960,000 People) With Just 50 Chemical/Biological Tripped SCUDs which North Korea has 600 of which pointed at South Korea according to ROK Intelligence reports
Skintones are different because of the climate. We're not all going to be a brown colour one day.
Yeah because people would DIE due to overexposure to sunlight or underproduction of Vitamin D.
Which isn't the case anymore. We will eventually all be a single color. Though I don't imagine that color will be brown.
Logically you mix all the colors together and you get brown, but humans aren't so simple. With the media being dominated heavily by western influences, people tend to prefer light skinned mates. It is entirely possible that the future is actually still just plain white bread. Or maybe desires will change, it wouldn't be the first time in human history. So really it is anyone's game.
Meanwhile the North Koreans Do have Artillery Guns that can reach Seoul
The M1978 and M1989, both have a Range of 60km based on combat usage of them by Iran during the Iran-Iraq War, now remember Seoul is only 40km from the DMZ and 4km more for its width meaning, with South Korea confirming their presence just north of the DMZ, the North Koreans can lob 170mm shells on Seoul all day long, not only that, these are mobile meaning even if you can trace the shells' trajectory back, they could have simply just moved the guns by then.

Those don't look like they could pack up and move fast enough to avoid being detected by counter battery RADAR and then annihilated by SK or USA artillery.
Yes, counter battery RADAR will almost instantly tell you the point of origin of shells or rockets.
North Korean Society is fucked, the country is oppressed and fucked, it is a corrupt country, I am hoping for a war, as I feel pity for the NK people.
Now don't think im a "FREEDOMMEEEE" guy, I think the north Korean people should at least be able to live a semi-normal life.
Again their society is fucked, and the only way to reform society that is this deep is for it to rise from the ash's.
basically, only war can fix this problem.
Peace is good yes, but war is a necessity for peace.
You can't have peace talks with Nazis or religious fanatics
Nor can you have peace talks with NK and Jim kong ill.
If you want peace with these groups, its a bullet to begin with.

No they can't, they take up to 10 minutes to trace shit back, arm the rockets, and fire, and even then, hitting one battery might make it go from 8,300 rockets/shells a minute to maybe 8,200
Not only that with how many shells and rockets there are going to be in the Air the Radar will no doubt be overloaded with all the radar signatures it's getting, and with the radar being fixed and the fact it has to wait for the shell to impact before it can trace all it, means the radars are going to easily be rendered null and void once the first 8,300 shells and rockets land

And what if they're deployed in mountains, like so much of north korean artillery?
Nothing is going to happen, no battles will happen.

It's not as simple as that, if a war breaks out between NK and SK millions of people are likely to be killed over the course of a couple of years and even then assimilating a society of fanatics could take another couple of years. If it were as simple as launching aircraft, firing missiles, and sending infantry and tanks to sweep things up then NK wouldn't even be a country anymore.
No "war" will happen because NK's army will be demolished in about 6 hours.

It barley is a country, it can be described as a prison for its civilians.
I rather have a million people die now, then 2 million people suffer for in that hell hole for the rest of their life.
In my opinion, it is for the greater good of the world, and the world society for the NK army to crumble.

Chemical weapons, mountain fortifications, a border in the range of SK's capital, ruthless tacticians, insane leader, fanatical soldiers, fanatical population, superpowered ally, and the possibility for insurgency in years to come. Not to mention that NK is a nuclear power which is doubly dangerous.

The Patriot missile system is quite keen on taking down large, relatively inaccurate missiles like scuds that once they fire, you're out of luck if a nice wind burst comes along.
No "war" will happen because NK's army will be demolished in about 6 hours.
5 million men under a militaristic, confucian state. yea sure, 6 hours.
No "war" will happen because NK's army will be demolished in about 6 hours.
actually no...
Its one of the worlds biggest army..
But iraq had a pretty big army, and it crumbled quickly.
but NK...
if war happens... its going to be BIG, Its not going to be no Iraq, desert storm shit were its just a few days of combat, 10 years of occupation.
It will probably be 6-20 months of hard fighting.
And what if they're deployed in mountains, like so much of north korean artillery?
Then you are in trouble. It's the mobile batteries which are just generally less concerning to me.
The ones in the mountains are the ones I worry about. They have a lot of ammunition and the ability to lay down continuous fire without having to worry about moving.
It barley is a country, it can be described as a prison for its civilians.

Don't be naive.
North Korea has an army of 4 million and then they have scores of batteries focused on the population of Seoul and Incheon. Saying I'm okay with millions dying for the greater good is an easy thing to say when you're typing at a computer.
Ending persecution is nice and by all means one of the most important goals for mankind, but if things do go down people's stomachs for war will go belly up.

Even when Allied DF equipment gets a fix on those arty positions, counterbattery fire wouldn't be able to have a chance to kill or suppress the gun for at least a minute. The fact is that a single piece of NK artillery could fire two to five rounds before being destroyed or forced to retreat, making it impossible prevent the first bombardment landing on Seoul or other areas.

Yeah again, I was just pointing out that the mobile batteries aren't really nearly as concerning as the stationary ones. The mobile batteries can be detected and destroyed. The mountain ones can be detected, but destroying them before the manage to level Seoul is another matter.
Ideally we'd flood Seoul with point defense C-RAM's, but I don't think we have enough to begin with, I'm not sure how effective they actually are, and keeping them supplied with ammunition would be a nightmare.
Excellent, Russia seems to be getting involved.
