What sucks is I have a friend in the airforce, and she works right on the DMZ.
The best solution? Evacuate Seoul. Now. Keep it as quiet as possible, some jumped up NK commander might see the evacuation as a sign of a pending attack and shell the fuck out of it. I know evacuations are hardly stealthy, but it really cant be helped. Martial law should be put into effect so we can get people to leave their homes at such short notice.
not that easy to evacuate a huge ass place like that "quietly" some loudass will open their mouth. then north korea would be like OH SHIT SON and be like FIRE ALL BATTERIES but what would I know :downs:
What sucks is I have a friend in the airforce, and she works right on the DMZ.
Ask her if she golfed on that course that's surrounded on all 3 sides by mines
Not going to happen. North Korea has spies in Seoul, it's only common sense.
Even if SK did evacuate Seoul theres no telling if NK would see it as a reason to start hostilies.
Even if SK did evacuate Seoul theres no telling if NK would see it as a reason to start hostilies.
True, but since the spies would conceivably be evacuated with the civilians, they could simply relay the location of the refugee camps to the NK firebases.
True, but since the spies would conceivably be evacuated with the civilians, they could simply relay the location of the refugee camps to the NK firebases.
Just move them out of range of the artillery.
Just move them out of range of the artillery.
Its not that easy.
Holy cow, a real MANLY war in my lifetime! Not this insurgency shit
I am truly disappointed in you, boy.
Its not that easy.
Well, if you've already got them out of the city, can't you just drive another 15-20 miles down the road so you're out of range? Whats so hard about that?

If NK artillery opens up even attempting to stage an evacuation would be hopeless.
One sure thing I know will happen with another war, less StarCraft 2 players will be available once it's released.
An evacuation of a city the size of Seoul would under normal circumstances take days. What we were discussing is that after the evacuation takes place, if its successful that spies could just report the positions of the relocated citizens so the artillery can hit them. Then I said if you've already moved the civilians that far, why not move them 20 miles further so they're out of range. The entire point of the evacuation would be to get out before the artillery starts firing, if it's possible. Its all hypothetical. Read.
If a war does breakout, I'd love to see North Korea get it's ass stomped. It would be great to see Korea reunited as one country.

You guys remember the military parade? Well, clearly, you could see some missile trucks with huge payloads. These probably can hit seoul, and the payload would probably be the size of a tomahawk. I'm not too sure, its just something I thought. [editline]04:50AM[/editline] And a very fucking useful page about their Arms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_People%27s_Army_Ground_Force Another useful page on NK's current MBT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%27okpung-Ho Most of their artillery are 120mm and above. And they have about 7 thousand mortars. Woah. But, you can clearly see they still uses 60s-80s era tech. Type 63, T-62. They also still use old BTR transports [editline]04:51AM[/editline] Damn, they have 1000 or less of this! [editline]04:51AM[/editline] [editline]04:52AM[/editline] Seems like an upgraded version with reactive tiles. And a bigger cannon. [editline]04:56AM[/editline] Their current tank can store 43 shells! And Cast Turret and Spaced (possibly Composite)! 50 km/h on road and 30 km/h off road! And they can operate at a range of 370 km! And can fucking tmove in water up to 5m! Holy fuck, since when are they that advanced?

Trying to relocate a whole refugee camp while being shelled is going to be complete chaos.
These were advanced as well, not enough though. If war comes they'd get rolled conventionally but they'd probably try to do a guerilla war.
Images of their current tank( different from the one above) Seems like fighting them is harder than I thought.
my brother is gonna get killed by them north koreans for teaching them south koreans english

Technology gap is so far apart it's not even funny.

Composite armor can vary from the applique stuff stuck on the sides of APCs to ceramics. I doubt the North Koreans would have technology or the materials to manufacture even ceramics similar to the ones used in Cold War-era Soviet tanks. Hell it's just an old T-62 with upgrades. You know when people upgrade a hopelessly outdated PC to try to keep up with newer machines? This NK tank is exactly like that. Cast turret? That motherfucker's made of steel. A simple shaped charge or penetrator is going to cut through that like butter. These tanks are going to be very weak on the low-level tactical scale. It's when Allied forces are going to be confronted with tanks used in mass that's going to be a problem.
Is this the Korean war II? or what, what will we call this.
This isn't good :/ Blizzard is going to lose a lot of profit if shit goes down
That explains a lot. Warning. Pics are NSFW. Go ahead, MadMax. Click on those if you dare. Manly, eh? And yet there are still things worth fighting for. It's not a game.
I looked at them. The sad thing is, that's everyday life for some people. Every day a bomb goes off, a person is shot, and it's normalcy for some. The pictures didn't disturb me any though. I'm desensitized to violence now. That's what happens when you grow up in a world full of insurgency and hate. Maybe that's why I'm enlisting. To figure out what it's all about. I mean I watch it on the news, but yet I want to experience it. There were three soldiers who were killed in Iraq, and they all lived less than a half an hour away from me, yet it doesn't deter me. It makes me want to fight more. Maybe for them, or maybe, just maybe that there's something worth dying for... [editline]02:02AM[/editline]
Just move them out of range of the artillery.
NK's artillery is preplanned, meaning they have locations already zeroed in. The chances of civilians being moved out of range is very low.
this is completely idiotic btw
To you maybe. I've told other people and they agree.

If we fielded armor against their armor it would be like watching Shermans go against Tigers. An Abrams would tear through one of those like a hot knife through butter. The technological gap between NK and the rest of the world is literally night and day.
