That's not even as advanced as the M60 Patton and that was made in the 60s. If we fielded armor against their armor it would be like watching Shermans go against Tigers. An Abrams would tear through one of those like a hot knife through butter.
The technological gap between NK and the rest of the world is literally night and day.
It's actually more like Panthers going against T-72s. There's a whole generation's worth of difference between the NK and Allied tanks.
Is this the Korean war II? or what, what will we call this.
there isn't going to be any war
Since this has gone this far, war would be soon inevitable
Ideally we won't occupy the country.
EDIT:
Hit it and quit it.
Reduce North Korea the first free communal state.
It's the objective of communism anyways, we're just speeding up the process :v:
I think once the North Korean citizens realize they live in a complete shithole, they might just abandon support for their awful government.
I take ganders as why some theorists haven't poked their shitstick at the theories of what this might be a final war. Saying "Nostrodamus was right, the world will end with this war!" meanwhile it's not even gonna be a big war.
Shit though, if China does join in with N. Korea... it could mean a bigger difference.
I looked at them. The sad thing is, that's everyday life for some people. Every day a bomb goes off, a person is shot, and it's normalcy for some. The pictures didn't disturb me any though. I'm desensitized to violence now. That's what happens when you grow up in a world full of insurgency and hate.
Maybe that's why I'm enlisting. To figure out what it's all about. I mean I watch it on the news, but yet I want to experience it. There were three soldiers who were killed in Iraq, and they all lived less than a half an hour away from me, yet it doesn't deter me. It makes me want to fight more. Maybe for them, or maybe, just maybe that there's something worth dying for...
Yeah, because seeing NSFW war pics is a lot like being there is the shit, right? Hearing screams, smelling the blood, that's none of the experience at all. :downs:
Whatever happened to "This is a shitty war, I only signed up because I wanted to get free college' ?

China wouldn't join the NK. Who in the right fucking mind would Allie themselves with a poor, rouge dynasty fighting against on of the most militarily and financially powerful nations in the world?
These last few posts are making it sound like war is indeed happening. I miss something or is it all still part of that "I hope a war breaks out so I'll have lived through WWIII"?
there isn't going to be any war
I was unaware you could see into the future?
Same logic still applies. Trying to relocate a whole refugee camp while being shelled is going to be complete chaos.
No, because you wouldn't stop to make that refugee camp in the first place. Any civilians that you manage to get out of the city you would just take 20 miles down the road and set up the camps there, out of range. Bare in mind that the suggestion was that the evacuation starts right now. Past time I checked there wasn't any artillery firing. NK probably won't see it as a reason to start a war, and the lives of millions of people would be worth the millions it costs to get them out, and back in if the war never actually happens. Are you saying that they shouldn't even attempt anything like this, and just leave them all to get pounded into dust by the NK artillery?

Because that will ruin the South Korean's economy :downs:
And artillery shells won't?
And artillery shells won't?
Oh right brilliant. I can see you're the brains behind this outfit.
Let's cripple an entire country just incase.
Hell Kim will probably just laugh and let South Korea and fuck it's self without even a shot being fired.
So you're willing to bet 24.4 million lives that there probably won't be a war? Get this man in government. Now.
Why are they not evacuating the cities as you so cleverly suggested?
If its so logical.
Who knows. I'm not a military or political analyist, they know better. It was just a suggestion, and what I thought would be best. People were posting their opinions what what the first action should be etc, and I posted my opinion.
So you're willing to bet 24.4 million lives that there probably won't be a war? Get this man in government. Now.
Yes. Let's take extreme measures based on probability. Hell, while we are at it, let's nuke Iran because they probably have nukes.
For God sake, man, use some common sense. You can't make rash decisions based on how probable something is.
No war, nothing will happen. Just read all the incidents that have occurred between the nations.

I'm starting to get tired of people who keep saying "there won't be a war". How do you know? This may well be the final straw. Everyone needs to put away their crystal ball and stop acting like they know what is going to happen. Let's just sit back, put our feet up and watch the events unfold - if nothing happens, then good.

Oh wow, almost completely contradict yourself in two posts made minutes after each other. But you're right we can't tell if there will be a war or not, its just if there is one the first thing thats gonna happen is the population of Seoul meets Mr Artillery.

Benefits North Korea in no way. Be honest to yourself, how many times have you heard/read about the super serious threats that North Korea have made.
I know quite well that you guys secretly wants a war to unfold because it's "cool" or something.
Here are a list of all the incidents.

I assume that you assume that North Korea are the aggressors.

Two things:
1. How did I contradict myself? The first post said that it is a bad idea to make extreme decisions based on probability. It's like punching someone because they look bad. The second post simply stated that we should stop acting like we know what is going to happen. How the bloody hell does that contradict the previous post?
2. I swear, I am going to buy you an artillery shell for Christmas because you seem pretty obsessed with artillery.

Yes, but everything you are saying is based entirely on the idea that the NK leadership is of sound mind.
Based on everything you have seen from them, can you honestly say they are? Really? They torpedoed a SK ship for Christ sake, so they have already proven themselves to be happy to carry out acts of aggression. Now it is just a case of waiting to see how SK responds.
And please... I'm 21 - not 12, I have relatives in the armed forces (my cousin nearly got blown up the other week in Afghanistan). I don't want to see a war.

So because someone is better at you then you should completely give up on it and never attempt it ever again? Stop learning maths, don't you know there are people better than you at that. While you're at it, never run anywhere ever again, Usain Bolt is so much better than you, you should give up. Also every mod team out there should jsut give up right now, they haven't got shit on EA.

Cheers, I'd like to join the Royal Artillery at some point. And only because Seoul is in range of the majority of NKs artillery, which have been aimed right at it for the past god knows how many years, ready to fire at a few minutes notice.

There is a very good chance North Korea would see a major evacuation of a city such as Seoul as a sign of a impending attack. Having Seoul in a state of evacuation when shelling starts would be far worse than if they where not.

Very true. It would be a massive gamble. But if there is no evacuation, and the war starts, theres 24.4 million people in the metropolitan area of Seoul, half the countries entire population, who are at massive risk, including the government with it being the capital city and all.

Its called an analogy. You know, saying that I shouldn't even bother posting my opinion because there are people out there who know better. Funnily enough they aren't posting on this forum, but whatever.

I see, but look at the list I gave you, non of them led to anything spectacular. I think even though NK is out of their minds, they are clearly aware that they can't do shit if the whole world are against them.
Like their threat about blowing up the SK propaganda speakers, I think they are still there.
Of course I have no idea of what's going to happen, but I assume nothing are going to happen after looking at the list of incidents.

But that's my point: this is all assumptions - nobody knows anything. Hell, you might be right. What's getting my back up is when people dismiss other people by simply saying "there isn't going to be a war" when they are really just making an assumption or a guess.

This is definitely one of the most heated in a few decades, though.
Hopefully nothing comes of it, of course.

This is probably not good news. SK might attack, hearing this. China will not protect the party that destroyed SK's corvette.
War is simply a mechanism by which humanity solves its differences. The end goal being total stability, whether the parties involved realize it or not. As time goes on the world is slowly taking shape and forming into a more permanent situation.
World peace is useless if there is still tyranny and oppression. Until every nation is free, blood will be shed.
Free nations can still go to war with each other, you know.
