It could be equipped to a smaller system, but this is a very good step in the right direction. Kinect may not exactly be the best for video games, but it's damn helpful for things such as path finding.
People, this is only the beginning.
Do you expect blind people to carry a laptop on their backs. The head gear needs to be more intergrated too.
the laptop is for debugging. im sure you could use a netbook or even a smartphone as the computer.
Wouldn't be very useful for the experienced blind people though because after living with it for years, most can function just as well as a person with perfect vision.
I mean, my friend's dad who has no eyes at all built their back porch with no help at all and mows the lawn and stuff.
Still cool though and could be useful for someone who might have just gone blind and needs help adjusting.
Blind people can get around just fine.
Why did I expect the voice to say "Hey! Listen!" that entire video
Looks like he has boxer short which have been hoisted up way too high!
Holy fuck, Kinect.
And I thought the motion capture was cool.
