I really hope that Europe and the US on't just go "We will write an angry letter." Ukraine needs help if Russia actually invades.
yeah but will the world last that long?
there's no reason to imply that russia is going to head straight to kiev shooting everything they see along the way, it's just fear mongering
Wow, they are straight up camparing this situation to 2008 georgia to "avoid genocide".
I really hope that Europe and the US on't just go "We will write an angry letter." Ukraine needs help if Russia actually invades.
not sure about Murica but somehow i can see EU not giving a damn
Wow, they are straight up camparing this situation to 2008 georgia.
because russians are apparently going to hand out passports to ethnic russians and [ex]berkuts, which they did before they invaded georgia
not sure about Murica but somehow i can see EU not giving a damn
i can see the EU intervening so they have another country to fuck over
because russians are apparently going to hand out passports to ethnic russians and [ex]berkuts, which they did before they invaded georgia
In context to military intervention.
They are not only talking about Crimea, but Ukraine in general.

They're securing their assets, namely in Crimea. They will "occupy" it until the political situation has "stabilized" (meaning when Yanukovich is back in business)
so it's just peacekeeping (for now)?
These politics need to stop talking the talk and start shooting the shoot. Until some action happens, Russia is just flexing his red communist muscles at the innocent little girl, Cimera or whatever the fuck the nobody-cares-about town.
i can see the EU intervening so they have another country to fuck over
And Russia's intervening because of their strong humanitarian values then?

Crimea is a peninsula of the size of haiti, not a town.
[editline]1st March 2014[/editline]
I hope you are sarcastic
And Russia's intervening because of their strong humanitarian values then?
so far, russia has been intervening to protect their port and on request of the crimean premier
[editline]1st March 2014[/editline]
they're legally allowed to do everything they've done so far due to treaties
Russian troops in Balaclava.

I don't know about you, but when i looked up of what the current government consists of... i think Ukraine was better off with Yanukovich. I mean jesus, Yulia timoshenko (the leader of "fatherland" union(yes, that's the leading party in ukraine now)) is known to be associated with this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semion_Mogilevich

to be fair, yanukovich also has mob ties, but considering udar, batkivshchyna and svoboda are all basically nazi parties, they were better off with yanukovich
Vote passed unanimously
He ruined his political position with both sides so its unlikely he will back in business.
Well, he's resting up in Ukraine now, and i'm currently serously scared for Ukraine when i checked up on what their government consists of. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_February_2014_National_Unity_Government I mean All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland"... and All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" which had THIS as their symbol for more than 10 years. This is seriously another Georgia attempt from Russia, I totally agree with Shakashvili.

Those are self-propelled artillery tanks. Are they really expecting to attack against Ukraine armed forces?
I mean those are designed for supporting tanks and mechanized units in fast paced offensive tactics.
Jesus christ.

"I think we're wasting the president's time!" says a senator. Then they vote for Putin's Ukraine invasion unanimously"
