The double white cloths around the arm is the same marking used by Russian and pro-Russian forces in South Ossetia 2008. Additionally, two of them carry grenade launchers only issued to Spetsnaz/FSB/MVD. I wouldn't be surprised if Russia acts out "destabilisation" so that they can do whatever they want.

Ragtag rebels aren't going to spend a few hundred dollars on one of those, but Russian special forces are known to make heavy use of Western firearms accessories, such as that exact model of sight on the grenade launcher.

Also, the yellow armbands are the same ones worn by the snipers that killed people in Kiev. I would assume that the non-uniformed guys are all ex-berkut and russian elite troops, mixed together.

FSB troops in Dagestan and Chechnya wear them for IFF purposes so they're probably doing the exact same thing.
