SIMFEROPOL, Ukraine (AP) — Associated Press journalists on Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula have seen a convoy of hundreds of Russian troops heading toward the regional capital, Simferopol.
Russian troops took over the strategic Black Sea peninsula on Saturday without firing a shot and the new government in Kiev has been powerless to react.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected calls from the West to pull back his forces, insisting that Russia has a right to protect its interests and the Russian-speaking population in Crimea and elsewhere in Ukraine.
On the road from Sevastopol, the Crimean port where Russia maintains a naval base, to Simferopol on Sunday morning, AP journalists saw 12 military trucks carrying troops, a Tiger vehicle armed with a machine gun and also two ambulances.
USA better hand over Chicago right now in that case.
Yeah they can't do anything otherwise Russia will turn it around and say it's aggression which justifies a response.
better than getting invaded with no resistance whatsoever

Well, who wants to die? Their morale is probably pretty low right now and they really don't stand a chance considering the Ukrainian military is pretty thin in the east.
Ukrainian military needs to move right fucking now and hold onto what they have.
It's their country, they have the rights to block the roads and stop the Russians moving around.
USA better hand over Chicago right now in that case.
I'm Chicagoan, what?
Crash into the convoys if they have to. Do everything but shoot at them.
Oh they better.

When Estonia was occupied, people didn't just cry and accept it. We had intense guerilla movements and freedom fighters.
There's more to nationality and national unity than just "beep boop Russia's army coefficient is 12,3 times more effective than ours bleep bloop lets roll over and die"

One of the reasons they mobilised was to prevent insurgency :v: A lot of Ukrainian military officers live in Crimea, and a new law allows Ukrainian servicemen to serve where they live, thus unwanted influence and the risk of defection.
Nothing is going to happen as nothing happened with North Korea.
Nothing is going to happen as nothing happened with North Korea.
umm north korea hasn't invaded anyone recently
Oh, looks like im going to war to. See you on the battlefield guys!
Nothing is going to happen as nothing happened with North Korea.
Why would you even compare anything Eastern Europe to North Korea
umm north korea hasn't invaded anyone recently
North Korea also at least has some programs going because they know that they can't stay a hermetic state forever. There's a university in the DPRK with western lecturers, for example.
Russian media say Ukrainian troops dispatched to Crimea are resigning en masse.

Don't come into a thread about a legitimate fucking breaking of international law to spout biased bullshit.
You have the burden of proof, I'm not going to believe RT which has time and time again since the beginning of the universe shown to be RIDICULOUSLY PRO-RUSSIAN IN EVERY WAY.
It wouldn't surprise me if they literally made this up.

Lol "legitimate fucking breaking of international law", are you new to this world?
"burden of proof", I'm not arguing with anybody. I'm reposting shit because I find this conflict interesting.
Yeah, and the shit you're reposting is not at all reliable.
Yeah, and the shit you're reposting is not at all reliable.
Okay, I'm posting on a message board not controlling mass media. Reliability is opinion, pick and chose. If you don't want any updates on the situation which I find from ANY source simply add me to your ignore list.
what does russia want?
At first it sounded like they just wanted to secure their assets, mainly their navy base in Sevastopol, in the Crimea region. This whole mess have escalated so much in the last week I have trouble keeping track of what Russia wants exactly.
