Yeah man lets not have major news organizations to broadcast major and breaking news! Totally!
Yeah man lets not have major news organizations to broadcast major and breaking news! Totally!
That's totally not what I said.
I probably should be, but can't really be happy about it when I read about him and his daughter. :(
That's totally not what I said.
So what, let people not watch the news so it does not give them power?
I blame the people (sheep) that give the media its power.
With this single post you now sound like a conspiracy theorist.

I mean you don't think that the media sways who the people vote for? (if your answer is yes that they do sway the people continue, if you don't, then that's your belief and I'll move on with my logic)
Okay, so if they do sway people to a certain candidate, there's some benefit that they must be gaining from this candidate being elected.
Actually, fuck what I say, I am just some stupid guy on a forum that can't convey his message properly. This guy says it better:

You do understand people are not robots, they don't go to what people tell them to go to. They go to who they believe in.
i'm actually a bit disappointed
it would be an easy win for obama if he ever did win the primaries

OK so I have no opinions or beliefs in candidates because of the media. Cool.
I watch CNN 24/7 because nothing is half-decent on TV other than that and they are focusing on Romney, yet I do no think that he will win the main election at all nor do I prefer his policies over Obama.

The media can effect who is elected, but that is not Ron Pauls problem. His problem is that not alot of people support his politics . Thats it. You may thinki people are stupid for not supporting him but it is not the media s falt he is doing so poor.

No, but seriously, without the media a lot of countries would be completely lost when it comes to things like this.

Dude, are you being serious or trolling?
I'm not saying all people who watch the news are idiots or sheep or whatever, but MANY of them do. How else could people like Bill O'Reilly and Sarah Palin become so successful on a supposedly news channel? Many people agree with what idiots like them say because they are sheep.

So, going back to this. According to you, MOST people are sheep because they watch the news/read the paper/look at news sites/read magazines.
I would love to know how to fix it in a way that won't ruin the media
They agree with them because they share the same views. Ron Paul isn't covered much in the media because he has been doing this for decades. He isn't interesting and doesn't offer anything new.
Good! Now Gingrich needs to drop out and we can get on with voting for two people nobody really likes.

Or maybe they become successful because people have opinions and agree with them. I could say people who follow Ron Paul are sheep.

I don't understand what you are asking. What do you mean "ruin the media"?
Also, I never said "most", I said "many". Most is a stronger word, and implies a greater percentage of people than "many", and that wasn't what I said. I am not saying 99% of people who watch the news are sheep. Not even close. But many people who watch the news are sheep, and I would say that it's greater than 50% of the watchers of Fox News.
Or maybe they become successful because people have opinions and agree with them. I could say people who follow Ron Paul are sheep.
These sheep don't have opinions to start, they develop opinions because these people on television sounds so convincing. Doesn't mean that what they are saying is factual.
Let me end this bullshit right here.
If you weren't a "media sheep" you form an opinion based on FACTS, not other people's opinions. Fox News literally has a total of ONE hour (my estimation, could be less) during its 24-hour run-time in the day. The rest is total opinion.
You could say, "well the newspaper has an opinions page, an editorial, etc.". Well that shit is labeled "editorial" or "opinions" Fox News makes everything seem like fact. People who watch the news for facts are bombarded with opinions, and the sheep mistake these opinions for facts.
I don't understand what you are asking. What do you mean "ruin the media"?

Making people that watch the News not "sheep"
Making people that watch the News not "sheep"
I still don't understand what you are asking. Either way, I said what I had to say, if you agree, great! If you don't, then I seriously don't have anything more to say except "oh well".
I still don't understand what you are asking. Either way, I said what I had to say, if you agree, great! If you don't, then I seriously don't have anything more to say except "oh well".
If "many" people that watch the media are sheep, what is going to stop them from continuing to be "sheep" is my question
Ron Paul was coming in SECOND in most states and the media disregarded it. Either way, read this from The Washington Times:
"Rumors of Ron Paul campaign demise greatly exaggerated"

Being educated to use logic. There are many courses that enhance one's logic, such as calculus. This is ironic because most people in the United States, I'm talking about over 95% (might be higher--I remember reading a statistic on this) don't take a calculus course in their lifetimes.
No, I am not saying that if you don't take a calculus course you are a dumb sheep, I am just providing
one example. My point is still to increase the logic and most importantly to be able to critically think. If one is capable of critical thinking, they will not accept everything that they are told, and start questioning other people's opinions if the opinions are not compatible with their reason.

6 months ago, but I'll bite. That proves my point even more. He was beating out other candidates left an right, no I'm not saying he was #1, but he was getting results like he could be a top 3 candidate, but the media/news networks didn't shine the spot light upon him because he doesn't benefit them in any way, and doesn't support the rhetoric and goal that theirs is (whatever it may be).

That's because alot of colleges often recommend it or offer an option of geometry/calc/analysis/trig but that's another argument.
But are you seriously saying that "many" people who watch the news needs more logic in their life..?
Santorum pulls out. Theres a joke there…..somewhere…
Wow, this is the lamest race to the US presidency I've seen in a while.
