Is a g35 not just a 350z with a fake luxury look? Why wouldn't this kit work with one of those?

For 16k i would rather just get an Delorean. You can acctualy get brand new ones for said price if i remember right.

Still it looks better. And honestly if you had the money to blow 30k on a Delorean i know maintaining it wont be much of a issue at that point.
They're pieces of shit. And closer to 30k. And not brand new, as they haven't been made in forever.
You can buy a 'new' Delorean, which are built from spare parts from the original factory.
You can buy a 'new' Delorean, which are built from spare parts from the original factory.
I think you can even get them with modern parts like a Porsche engine and such if i remember right.
Still it looks better. And honestly if you had the money to blow 30k on a Delorean i know maintaining it wont be much of a issue at that point.
They're pretty terrible cars, even besides their maintenance issues. They use an old Renault engine that wheezes for power in the original configuration and are still not particularly powerful in the 'new' ones. The one in BTTF? Yeah, that's got a Porsche engine. The stock car was slow as shit, too slow for the films. The maintenance issues are typical of a car made in the British Isles at the time: electrical problems and rust out the wazoo. Don't even say 'stainless steel', because underneath that shiny bodywork is 100% standard steel.
Is a g35 not just a 350z with a fake luxury look? Why wouldn't this kit work with one of those?
A G35 is the Infiniti equivalent of the Skyline 350GT, or any other V35 Skyline coupe if any. A 350Z is two-seater while I think the G35 and 350GT are 2+2.

Can somebody explain why "supercar" looking cars are all very expensive, and why manufacturers like Toyota, Mazda etc don't design any supercar looking cars at normal person prices? I would imagine that a four door Camry that looks like a Ferrari would sell like hotcakes.
Can somebody explain why "supercar" looking cars are all very expensive, and why manufacturers like Toyota, Mazda etc don't design any supercar looking cars at normal person prices? I would imagine that a four door Camry that looks like a Ferrari would sell like hotcakes.
Supercar bodywork is enormously impractical for day to day use and often outright impossible with how the cars are engineered. For example, Ferrari's and such have such low noses because there's literally nothing in the front, being mid-engined. A Toyota Corolla has that lump of a inline-four and all the other junk that it needs to run in the way for a gracefully sloping nose. We have seen a trend towards making regular cars look better, however. In the 1980's you'd get a box with wheels while a high-end car was all angles and curves. Now, most cars are fastbacks, with fancy headlights and grills, and all sorts of features standard. Compare the <30 grand Mazda 6: [t]http://i.imgur.com/zNR8pQ4.jpg[/t] to the >70 grand Maserati Ghibli: [t]http://i.imgur.com/mtN9GQg.jpg[/t] Honestly? I think the Mazda looks better. [editline]1st December 2015[/editline] Though the trend for fastbacks has caused many modern cars to have absolutely atrocious blindspots, aggravated by giant pillars-of-doom for roll protection. If you want a laugh, check out the rear visibility of a Cadillac CTS coupe, which is about as extreme as they come in terms of design for a 'regular' car.

I mean, that applies for here I would dare say, which is why sporty coupes aren't really a thing here, but I don't know about America where manufacturers love to ruin cars with holes in the bonnet and racing stripes and/or decals. the closest thing to what you're talking about would be the Japanese sports car craze of the 90's with things like the NSX, Supra, MR2 (especially this), RX-7 and FTO. But that goes back to the original point: childish and embarrassing. [editline]2nd December 2015[/editline]
The G35 and the 350z/370z are based on the same chassis. If those were ever sold in America, that is. 350Z would probably require a little bit more work to be done, but why would you ruin a 350Z anyways.
There are actually very few American cars with scoops, go-fast stripes, etc, that aren't called either 'Mustang', 'Camaro', or 'Challenger', whose entire purpose is basically inner 12 year old appeal. If you want to see cars covered in stickers and vents, the French have you covered. [t]http://i.imgur.com/scd6V7j.jpg[/t] Those Japanese cars were never designed to be 'normal' cars; they're all pure sports cars. The RX-7 and Supra competed with Porsche, the NSX with the Corvette and lesser Ferraris, and the MR2 with the Miata. You wouldn't want to live with any of those cars on a day-to-day basis; expensive, bespoke parts and frequent maintenance. [editline]1st December 2015[/editline]
Yeah it wouldn't seamlessly work with a 350Z because of that interior design (interior dimensions are probably too different even though the chassis is the same), especially the 2 seater 350Z design rather than the 2+2 of the G35/350GT, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a Skyline 350GT. The Skyline 350GT is the same thing as the Infiniti G35, just with the steering wheel on the opposite side. Foreign automakers typically bring their non-domestic cars to the market under their luxury division.
I've driven a ton of G-series Infiniti, if I had one I'd rather spend that kind of money on non-aesthetic parts. They're pretty solid /comfortable as is, can't imagine what could be done with $15,000
