I don't think it'll be a Pre-parallel universe Rose + Doctor pairing, because that would straight away exclude the possibility of the inclusion of Donna and Martha, cause 10 wouldn't remember them. 11 would, but Donna and Martha wouldn't know him.
It should be the [sp]Human-Doctor that stayed with Rose in the parallel universe[/sp]
Donna and Martha won't be in it. Catherine Tate is filming at the same time. If they bring back them they need to bring back EVERY companion. I think it'll be one companion per Doctor if anything.
Aww, this means he won't have the blue suit either :(
Don't get too excited. Last time Moff did a multi doctor story with 5 and 10, 10 remembered being 5 and thus solved the problem and avoided a paradox. Eleven will have to avoid running directly into Ten or he would remember doing it. What will probably happen is Eleven will be behind the scenes and inserted into memorable Doctor Who moments from the past. So you'd see Rose and Tennant getting into a situation they can't get out of and then Smith saves them but they never meet. It avoids the paradox and the memory issue. That way you can also have Doctors 1,2 and 3 without them being alive. Just film it so it looks like he's there we just never saw him.
Well, I generally meant that it would be sad for eleven to see Rose again. And multiple doctors was only an issue with Moffat because it was two merged TARDIS. Previous multiple-doctor stories worked out fine, if I recall. Actually, I think one of the classic Who episodes with multiple doctors ended up with none of the older doctors remembering the meeting.

So you think [editline]30th March 2013[/editline] "I won't be in the 50th anniversary. I'm never returning to Who" - Billie Piper. A few months ago.
So hopefully all of this rumour about Chris isn't true and he'll be a shock last minute announcement
Billie Piper looks like a gorilla.
I have never in my life watched an episode of Doctor Who. Can somebody briefly explain the massive hype?
I have never in my life watched an episode of Doctor Who. Can somebody briefly explain the massive hype?
You can't really explain it, you need to experience it. Ill bet a large amount of people posting in the thread are British, it's a very British thing. It's been running for 50 years now and has a very extensive universe surrounding it.
I have never in my life watched an episode of Doctor Who. Can somebody briefly explain the massive hype?
To summarize: A 900-year old alien called "The Doctor" zooms around time and space in a time machine called the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space). The Doctor goes around with a companion, or in the time of the shows run: several. He is of an alien race known as the Time Lords. When he is about to die, he can save himself by going through a process known as regeneration where is entire body rebuilds itself. It's how the show has been able to stay fresh without worrying about aging actors. David Tennant was the tenth doctor, and Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) was one of his companions. So their return is huge news. Any previous doctor returning is, as it'll likely involve a lot of timey wimey trickery and paradoxical screenwriting. That's why people hype. But you need to watch it yourself to properly get into it. I suggest starting from Series 1 of the 2005 reboot, with the ninth doctor (Christopher Eccleston). Have fun!
god that sounds silly written out. The show is great though.
Well to be fair the show can be quite silly at times. But when things are serious it usually comes with shit hitting the fan and edges of seats being sat on.
So hopefully all of this rumour about Chris isn't true and he'll be a shock last minute announcement
Everyone including him will say its a no go then he'll come in suddenly saving the day like the badass mother fuck he is, PEW PEW BITCHES [thumb]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3287/3005973224_038290b853_o.jpg[/thumb] [editline]30th March 2013[/editline]
You can't really explain it, you need to experience it. I suspect it might work that way if Moffat wants to take the easy way out. Also, considering Rose is holding [sp]the 3D Glasses Ten was using to see the trans-dimmensional stuff in Doomsday, and both their outfits match up to that episode, might their role in the 50th involve abduction or time-breaking alteration to the events of that episode?[/sp]
I have never in my life watched an episode of Doctor Who. Can somebody briefly explain the massive hype?
It's a family show about a silly alien who travels through time and commits the occasional genocide.

TAKE MY MONEY
Actually, the show isn't really that popular in the UK anymore, the audience ranges from hipsters to girls on tumblr these days.
It's a shame, my dad used to love Doctor Who when he was a kid. It's a British institution, but they seem to care more about marketing to the USA nowadays and assume that everyone in Britain will continue to watch and love it, but it's not really the case. Everyone I knew used to watch it, but gave up when Smith came in. That's when the advertising stopped in the UK, really.

I think the opposite happened, I think RTD cared more about the drama and emotional side of things, where Moffat cares more about the sci-fi and wants to make Doctor Who more like it was back in the 70's and 80's. But he's a messy head writer, he's all over the place. It's a shame really.
It's a family show about a silly alien who travels through time and commits the occasional genocide.
"Then you need to get yourself a better dictionary. When you do, look up genocide. You'll see a little picture of me there, and the caption will read, "Over my dead body!"."
so what day is it airing?
I am barely containing my excitement.

Yeah RTD's finales were overly dramatic and all, but I prefer those over Moffat's
I am so happy about this, I hope to see Chris too!
