David Tennant and Billie Piper to return to Doctor Who for 50th anniversary special

I feel like one of the few people who isn't excited for Rose returning. The fact that she was so infatuated by the Doctor, combined with how absolutely stupid she was, it was just irritating. I was so glad when she was gone, then the end of the fourth series came about and I lost it. But after, I was like "alright, this will never happen again, right?"
Nope.
I don't like Rose that much either, but I never really liked the companions that much.
The Doctor was always the reason why I watched.

Exactly. The Doctor's the main character, and the companions should compliment him. I feel like Martha and Donna were great because Martha was sort of an extension of Tennant's quirky yet serious nature, and Donna was a really nice contrasting character to him because she wasn't all obsessive like every other female companion becomes.
Rose and Amy both were sighs of relief when they left in my opinion. Amy was cool at first, but then this past season she was like "I'm not gonna give him my attention, my life and Rory are my focus. Oh hey the Doctor showed up out of nowhere let's go!" Rory was still cool though.

I can't stand her accent. I love all other British accents, but that one.

She puts it on in the show, if she had her normal accent it would be way better. Im kinda hoping she'll be the one from the parallel universe rather than the past version just so they'll have an excuse to say that her accent's changed while she's been away, due to her growing up a bit, or something.
What if she had kids with meta-crysis doctor.

Can't put enough emphasis on how much I hate those two faces.
Never really got into doctor who all that much
but billie piper is really fucking hot, despite her gargantuan mouth jesus christ.

I see 4 faces
I might have to wade through the mediocrity that is Matt Smith era Doctor Who just so I can watch this.

Another thing that made 10th my favourite is how he goes from Space Gandhi to Space Hitler in a few milliseconds.
Tennant was and always has been the best Doctor.
After Tennant you really respect Eccleston. I mean, I disliked him at first, but once I got through Tennant you see how effective he really was as 9.
Smith's just sort of okay. He has all the personality to be a great doctor, even better than Tennant, but the writing really holds him down. It's too dramatic and space-opera-esque, it needs to be more fun and carefree like Tennant was. Then again, each doctor has a different personality so I guess Smith's melodrama is just part of his character.
Smith's always been my top favourite doctor. His writing isn't the best, but he has such great moments, such great ability to really bring the doctor to life in a new way. He just has some really great range.
And he's always had the best tardis's.
i don't really watch doctor who i just know that this girl is extremely attractive
I have never in my life watched an episode of Doctor Who.
Can somebody briefly explain the massive hype?
Pure escapism, my man. The show is a blast, even if it is (or because it is) often extremely cheesy. It's very endearing.

I quite like Smith, personally. Tennant was brilliant, but Smith is awesome in his own right, and Amy Pond is easily my favorite campanion. Plus, she's bangin' hot.
I really like Smith - it utterly infuriates me when people automatically say David Tennant was the best doctor and ignore Smith because its a very nostalgia-tinged point of view.
Smith is a fantastic doctor, he just hasn't had the benefit of the writing quality that Tennant got. Tennant has had all the best-written ones so far bar a couple in Eccleston and a couple in Smith's.'
Series 6 of Smith was shit though - but that was just because of absolutely awful writing. Series seven is a lot better so far
I love Smith and Tennant equally.
Sometimes I feel like the writers think that America is an alien planet
based on how often they've sent Smith there
I am going through Doctor Who for the first time and I just watched the episode where the tenth doctor dies
I don't want to load the next episode, Tennant was just perfect

I'm still in Tennant withdrawal. Everyone likes Matt Smith now and I can't stand him.
If Tennant dies again or he just leaves in general in this episode... :suicide:
Am I the only one that likes Smith more than Tennant?

Got into Doctor Who not long ago so nostalgia isn't really a factor for me, but I can't judge Smith very well because the writing took a dive. I have no idea when and if it's the actor or the writing that's off.
Let's not forget "SPOOOOOILERS!" too. She managed to ruin entire episodes by herself.

"I don't want to go..."
:suicide:
I really disliked Matt Smith at first but he's definitely has grown on me. He plays the Doctor really well, and although he has more silly bits than 10 (and thus way more than 9) he still has the serious moments that really define the series.
And like someone else said, the writing in series 7 thus far is much better than 6.
