Too bad, you should have been permabanned for that.
How is racism toward a fictional race deserving of a permaban :v:
How is racism toward a fictional race deserving of a permaban :v:
Racism exhibited toward a fictional race deserve death by stoning; real life racism only deserves a permaban.
Why do I have a feeling that this will be the Tortanic Mark II?
because you spend too much time browsing /v/
Writing 25,000 as 25.000 is human error. Sure mistakes happen, but it is entirely their fault. Or are players supposed to question everything they see and pussyfoot around the game, just incase their $60 gets voided.
It takes a tiny bit of common sense to realize that certain things are not meant this way. This is equal to the case of a guy getting Martin Fury by accident in WoW and getting whole guild banned. Martin Fury was a legendary shirt item unattainable by normal means and available only to GMs+. Martin Fury, when used (and it had infinite uses), killed everything within 100 yards. And the guy who got the shirt from the GM by accident exploited the mistake by using the Martin Fury to perform some of the world first 80lvl 25-man raids by one click. After that he raged at how it was GM's fault. It may be, yes, but if anyone else here thinks that it was okay for this guy to exploit Martin Fury like that, think again. Haha, you guys who say this is unjustified are really not understanding anything. Yes, the bug is there because the developers did a mistake, but that does not justify misusing that mistake to the point where you can ruin the games economy due to hyperinflation, and break other peoples game experience. I find it comparable to one of my friends experiences here in Norway. You are not allowed to go over 40 km/h on a moped here, and there is a limiter on the moped itself to make sure you can't go over it. When he bought his moped, that limited was broken, so he could go in 60 km/h, 20 km/h over the limit. He still got a hefty fine, because he broke the rules, even though the thing stopping him from doing so was malfunctioning. TLDR: You cant break a rule just because something is broken, and letting you do so.

I've noticed that this thread is mostly a war between two conflicting philosophies on what punishment is. To me, a 72-hour ban (which is what these people received) is a warning. A permanent ban is a proper punishment, but some people think that punishments begin at warning people.
why did they ban repeat offender exploiters from a game gw2 sucks end of times inbound
Its not your job to try and replicate it. You just tell them and carry on your way and they handle it..
For the ass kicking boss maybe. But what if I'm not sure that said exploit really is an exploit, and may be some one-off bug? Where necessary/possible I'd remove whatever extra crap I got that unbalanced the game.

If its not an exploit, then no harm done and everyone can carry on.
something that puts a life or even more than one life in stake =/= something in a video game that affects no one else
I know it is not the same, but in both cases they broke rules previously set, because the opportunity arose.
Hilarious reading all these retards complaining that they got punished for destroying the game. Good riddance lol.
ArenaNet's community management is one of the major reasons i'm getting this game
something that puts a life or even more than one life in stake =/= something in a video game that affects no one else
People can take video games seriously too, you know. And especially when ArenaNet fought hard for 5 years making this game good and in the end just to see how their economy goes smithereenes.
Don't they have rollbacks in this game anyway?
Don't they have rollbacks in this game anyway?
it would be wonderful within the first several days to rollback everyone back several days
I'm pretty sure the exploit couldn't have been out long, and yes, I would have supported a rollback.
I'm pretty sure the exploit couldn't have been out long, and yes, I would have supported a rollback.
Brilliant idea, roll back the entire, causing everyone to lose all their progress. Because that won't piss off their entire community. Seriously, in what world does that seem like a good idea?
It's not such a big deal to warrant a rollback for the entire server.
Its 3000 people out of the roughly 1 million players.
