He could be genuinely not wanting to be labelled insane, but it's also probable he's lying as well. I don't think Breivik is dumb.
But doesn't it make more sense for him to want to be classified as sane? Wasn't there something about his sentence being permanent if he is labelled insane, whereas it isn't if he is sane?
During the trial the only time he showed emotion was when they played his own youtube video that called him a crusader and he cried.
Yeah he's fucking mental.
"I was walking down to the store to get a pint of milk, when 90-something people jumped me in an alleyway! Luckily I had my conceal-carry assault rifle and bombs on me, or else I would have been killed!"
We don't stoop to that level, sorry.
How is that stooping to his level? Oh and I don't believe you are on the victims family members who has to hear that this fucker can possibly get out after 21 years, maybe he will, maybe he wont. it's still really screwed up. This isn't a debate over petty fucking morals, its justice for the families that lost their children. Try to put yourself in their shoes.
Rating me dumb wont make your opinion right either, in my opinion, he deserves death, it's not my decsion I know, but if he gets out i'm pretty sure a lot of angry people will be waiting for him.

Dude, he's saying the exact same things he's been saying for years. Knock him for being a psychopath if you want, but he's nothing if not consistent in his ideology.

so is it about morals or not
I mean if morals determine what justice is then I think what counts as justice should have a whole lot to do with morality
Damn he looks awesome.

Oh please. Spare us your justice bullshit.
If the only way that the victims of his attack can be appeased is with more blood, then I have no sympathy for them. The man has been neutralized, that's all that matters.

If I'm right Anders is a pretty devout Christian, and he believes he's done no wrong, so threatening him with the death penalty isn't going to faze him one bit if he believes he's going to heaven once he dies.

I think that he did have some quite extensive plastic surgery done at some point. Might have been some stuff to make him look more aryan or whatever.
Since adolescence, Breivik had spent much time on weight training, and started using anabolic steroids. He cared a lot about his own looks and about appearing big and strong. In his early twenties he underwent cosmetic surgery, according to friends, in the chin, nose and forehead, and was very satisfied with the result.[41]
He had plastic surgery done? I didn't even notice, that's some good work.
He had plastic surgery done? I didn't even notice, that's some good work.
Way before 22/7, so you've probably only seen images of him after the surgery, or childhood photos which wouldn't be very easy to compare with to begin with.

Say hi to me. I lost 7 friends on Utøya. 2 dead, 5 have become really introvert shut-ins that I have hardly spoken to at all the last year. I don't want Breivik killed, neither do the parents or little sisters of the closest one of my friends who was killed, nor do any of the people I know who were there and experienced the hell that Utøya became themselves.
Try putting yourself in my shoes.

I was personally on Utøya. I knew several of the killed and injured, saw several persons get killed, and looked the killer directly in the eyes.
Nether I, my parents or the victims or parents I have met wants him dead. We just want him to go through a worthy trail and serve the sentence the court gives him.

You are the epitome of what any empathic being can strive to be.
You make me proud to be human.

As far as I've heard most Utøya survivors had that reaction.

And I am very glad for it.

Stop trying to speak for others. You have a different mentallity when it comes to the justice system than most of us Norwegians have.
My friend lost 11 friends that day, and she doesn't want Breivik dead. Not to prolong his suffering, but because no matter what we do we're all human and deserve to be treated as such.
The Norwegian justice system believes in rehabilitation, not vengeance. Wrap your head around that.

No no no, death penalty is bad. Lets defend the killer and not the killed according to most of the people here.

Your right to be considered a human shouldn't mean jack shit when you kill a shitload of others that were every bit as human as everyone else in the world.

You aren't valuing human life. Why kill another person for what they've done? People don't do things without thinking that they're doing the right thing. Breivik needs to be rehabilitated to realize that what he did is terrible. Killing somebody won't bring another back, and Norway itself has shown little desire to kill him.
I'm sorry A noob cake, kjetil2, I haven't lost that many friends and I hope I do not, I can't put yourself in your shoes I know. But tell me honestly, would you really be ok with it if he is set free in 21 years? I could never, ever want someone like that to live and live in comfort. That's just me, I am not saying you are wrong for what you believe in, I respect your opinions, my attitude towards people that do things like this is a lot more different.

Prolong his suffering? I see no remorse on his face, he looks happy, he's smug about it, that does not incite an ounce of anger in you? I'm sorry, people here demand utmost justice for people that do things like this in a harsher sense.
But tell me honestly, would you really be ok with it if he is set free in 21 years?
Again, he's almost certain to have his sentence extended to keep him in prison for life.

I know, just the off chance he does get out, i'm sure people would get pissed off then.
I hope he gets his ass kicked by other inmates in prison.

Yes, I would be ok with at as that means he has been changed so drastically he wouldn't do it again. If Breivik is ever set free, it's going to be as a changed man, a regretting man who is no longer a threat to anyone. Setting Breivik free won't be the same as forgiving and releasing a mass murderer, it is putting a new, harmless man in his place, and I see no problem with that.
I know, just the off chance he does get out, i'm sure people would get pissed off then.
just the off chance, like it's completely by chance.
"good job breivik you rolled a 13 you're free to go"
This is sort of like 9/11.
Worlds got cho back Norway.

Does that mean norway is gonna invade holland or poland?
Does that mean norway is gonna invade holland or poland?
Poland's not gonna care. They'd almost be like 'hey, Norway, your turn now? Okay, cool'.
