i'd imagine a leather jacket would get really hot and not very aerodynamic, which is a problem for batgirl since she's a martial artist and stuff.
Just look up the blooper reel of the first X-Men movie for proof.

And hell, there's a reason why armor has gaps, good luck fighting in heavy leather without gaps :v:
So I'm curious because I hear this argument a lot and I want to know people's opinions on it, that female armor with like, sculpted breasts on the armor is inherently sexist because realistically it's impractical. So like, is that a valid criticism?

In a game like Dragon Age I would say that it is valid criticism. In a game like God of War, or a series like Heavy Metal I would say that is not valid criticism. Really it is not a catch all criticism, it is very dependent on the style of what we are talking about that it becomes valid.

There's also a video about how the form in general makes it difficult for women to fight. If I can find it before I have to leave for work, I'll edit back.
part of that process, however, is discussion, including criticism. people and institutions have and should have the right to criticize a form of media for the use, real or perceived, of cliche and stereotype, or otherwise of vapid inoffensiveness. we have this idiotic outrage-culture, where members of x group freak out about y thing and then members of z group freak out about how members of x group are freaking out. this whole self-feeding cycle of anger provides nothing productive to the discussion. even worse, it stonewalls progress by forcing any attempt at either inclusivity or offensiveness, mild or otherwise, to participate in the two-sided circus ring of madness. it turns works of art into political pawns, no longer valued for their content and instead used as talking points for arguments that never lead anywhere productive.
The problem is that most of the time the criticism is wrong. It's adressing the wrong points, it's poorly constructed, it's based on wrong assumptions, it's just a conjunction of fallacies and so on.
The solution is equal opportunity fanservice. Make everyone sexy.
It's already like that. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/o2DzWgx.jpg[/thumb]
