How many bloody times does it have to be said that this kid isn't having therapy or surgery or anything, she just wants to live as a girl and join the girl scouts at this moment in time where she feels this way? These threads are like broken records.
I'm just saying that it's odd they're taking it so seriously, ready to call them transgender already. I remember when I was that age I had a friend who begged his parents to let him join the girl scouts but he's not transgender
Point is, if you take something a 7 year old does this seriously and start calling them transgender then you're a moron of a parent

you're a moron of a parent if you raise your children believing in a gender binary and tell them that they have to be EXACTLY the same as society's preconceived notions of what they should be like based on which sexual organs they have
I think he should be able to make the decision to be homosexual/bi/straight at this age, but wanting to live life as a different gender? At SEVEN? Be rational here. I support LGBT rights because I want freedom for everyone, but he's SEVEN.
Right, yeah, you should just ignore your child when they approach you about a serious condition that is increasingly well documented to be present in childhood.
You'd have to be a moron of a parent to do that.

I'm not saying that I would force them to live a certain way but I wouldn't go and say they're transgender because kids do crazy things and if they're really transgender, then it will come up for sure when they're mature.
Age is irrevelant

assuming they don't commit suicide before they reach full maturity due to the pressure

Yea, I guess my post was tl;dr
Obviously you guys have never been around young children in your lifetimes but maybe one day you will and you will realize that children aren't all serious business and have a tendency to get... creative
Obviously you guys have never been around young children in your lifetimes but maybe one day you will and you will realize that children aren't all serious business and have a tendency to get... creative
Article never states who decided who was what gender
Obviously you guys have never been around young children in your lifetimes but maybe one day you will and you will realize that children aren't all serious business and have a tendency to get... creative
Or maybe I'm actually transgendered and know what I'm talking about.

If they dress like a girl once you can pass it off as being creative
If they want to BE a girl and do things girls typically do instead of things boys typically do, then I think it's more than basic creativity
Or maybe I'm actually transgendered and know what I'm talking about.
We're talking about a 7 year old here whereas people here seem to be picturing somebody else
We're talking about a 7 year old here whereas people here seem to be picturing somebody else
I was fully aware of my gender dysphoria way before I was 7.

If it's something they stick with for a long time then yeah that's a pretty good indicator to watch for but it's not any kind of proof

I've been around plenty of younger children, and never once has there been one so outlandish and ridiculous as to make up some falsehood about how they have gender issues. You're out of your mind if you think the kid's making it up, and really ask yourself: When you were 7, did you know whether or were a boy or a girl? Pretty sure you did.

Maybe some people can but not every 7 year old who acts like a girl at that age is
I'm not saying it's not a possibility

Your previous posts suggested otherwise
What are you arguing here anyway? That you shouldn't support children who express concerns about their gender? That's bullshit.

Again if they stick with that for a long time then it's something to watch for but you can't take a 7 year old completely serious about something like this yet. That's just common sense.
That's the gist of my point so goodbye

I just said that you should wait until they're older before you take it completely serious

Yeah sorry pal, I'm pretty sure I can take the kid seriously, people don't joke about issues like this.

What the hell makes you think this kid having gender concerns wasn't something they stuck with for a long time?
Read the FIRST LINE of the article:
[release]Bobby Montoya often dresses like a girl, plays with girl's toys, and most recently, wants to become a Girl Scout.[/release]
Would you like that sentence on audio cassette as well
Yeah sorry pal, I'm pretty sure I can take the kid seriously, people don't joke about issues like this.
7 year olds don't understand how deep these issues are
But you're right, a mature person wouldn't joke about issues like this
What are you arguing here anyway? That you shouldn't support children who express concerns about their gender? That's bullshit.
Surely a child can wait until they're atleast twelve or thirteen years old before making such a huge decision. By that time they have experienced a reasonable amount of being their original gender.
A 7 year old is still in Elementary School.

I'm talking about if they still have tedencies like this until they're 11 or 12 at least
I'm talking about if they still have tedencies like this until they're 11 or 12 at least
alright Dr. Yeller what makes you qualified to say that 7 is completely arbitrary but "11 or 12" isn't

Such a huge decision as what? The kid identifies as a girl and wants to join the girl scouts, there's no life-altering decision being made here, just give him the respect he deserves.

this kid's original gender was female
transgender doesn't mean changing gender, it means gender isn't the same as sex
and transsexual means changing sex to match gender, since you're probably going to ask
there is no word for changing gender because there is absolutely no evidence that gender can be changed
