somebody similar happened with Operation Flashpoint am i rite? They removed because Bohemia had some quarrel with Codemasters and they (GOG) removed the game from the catalogue. Until some time later when Bohemia decided to rename OPFLASH to ArmA cold war assault. The only downside is that they took out the Red Hammer campaign which was by my standards awesome. But....it can be obtained.....via....unethical and immoral methods. (User was banned for this post ("Promoting warez" - MaxOfS2D))
If anybody wants, you can ask those who have the classic Fallout games for the good stuff... The reboot-games will most likely never be as great. I'd gladly share, with the only fear being Bethesda blaming my ass for piracy.

I know I'm going to set it as my wallpaper for the rest of tonight after this.
are you serious lmao
Yeah, unlike steam, stuff on gog actually works.
Not sure about those games but Fallout works fine on my computer with Steam.
Well, good thing I got them from the giveaway, already had them on Steam and so I didn't buy the gog versions, but as soon as I saw them being given away I added them to my account because of all the extras (and if I'm not mistaken, the gog versions are properly patched unlike Steam versions).

All these people going "OH GEE I GUESS I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO REINSTALL THE GAME AGAIN." It hurts my brain physically.
You could still get the original three on steam, you all know right? Not that expensive either, specially at sale time. [editline]31st December 2013[/editline] Just saying
man, i love buying old games on steam!!!!! 90% of them are shit terrible unpatched bullshit that crash every time you wanna play, that you have to jump through like 30 hoops to play comfortably. hell, even some newer games on steam don't even work anymore like the ship. why are they still on there? why can't they just take them off or fix them? i have a copy of the first deus ex on gog and steam. the gog version launches perfectly and i can play it with no problems at all. the steam version shrinks my computer's resolution down to 800x600 until i manually change it and makes everything fullbright, and the game doesn't even launch half the time. steam is a fucking JOKE when it comes to old games. shit should be illegal.
Looks like he's wearing body paint rather than a jumpsuit
Still top notch graphics for 1997.
I didn't realize Steam was unethical and immoral.
There's a reason why I underline the phrase and put it into bold and italic.... Jesus. Anyway, you're telling me I can get CWA in Steam having it in GOG. How?
Or you could just buy an old disk copy and transfer the campaign files to your arma cold war assault install which is legal
Wish I could find a disk. But the funny thing is that I bought OFP GOTY and therefore I should be given the option to download Red Hammer from GOG
The STEAM versions don't support mac but the GOG versions did. I thought I didn't have to get the GOG versions when they were free but now my PC is broken and i'm on a Mac and I can't play Fallout. :c
You can't unless you get Codemasters to give the Red Hammer rights to Bohemia
Oh christ, so I will stick to downloading it from other places.
Even some newer games on steam don't even work anymore like the ship
Works for me (W7 64bit).
wow, this sucks

Oh thank god I still have mine! [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22953483/Screenshots/GoG%20Games.PNG[/t] And of course my back-ups, but not so Windows 7 friendly. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22953483/valuevillageloot.JPG[/t]
Do we get to keep then despite them not being on GOG anymore?
GOG lost the rights to sell them. As a rule of thumb, whenever this happens you still get to keep what you've already bought.
Fallout 2 is really fucked up on steam until you get both the restoration and high resolution patches and a fallout update not included in the steam version. Then you have to extract the restoration patches contents and manually patch it because the patch doesn't work with the steam version normally. Steam sucks for old games.
I cried a little.
Or you could just download this like any sane person does and quit moaning.
kind of a big deal if steam is selling a game that doesn't run when you click the play button. i shouldn't have to download a 3rd party tool, spend time researching the issue, downloading an older version of direct x, or search for and fuck with config files in order to make my fucking game run. it may not be an issue for somebody like you or me who knows how to fuck around with game files, but what about somebody who isn't 100% into PC gaming? they don't know where to look, and frankly, that's awful. you shouldn't need to do this bullshit to make a game start up. if they're going to sell games that don't run on everybody's system why can't they at least have a disclaimer saying "this probably won't work," have an easily readable troubleshooting guide built in, include 3rd party patches in the installation, orfix up their games? gog manages to do this with all of their titles, with probably less than a 100th of the money steam makes. dark souls had that kind of issue, but at least it was marginally playable. [editline]4th January 2014[/editline] The only reason you should EVER need to install a fan made fix for a game is if you have a physical copy that predates your hardware or operating system. some of these old games are being sold in two thousand and fucking thirteen and don't function. i remember a year or two ago a lot of older source games (and mods but those aren't really relevant) simply broke for months, dunno if that's still the case right now though.
I hope GOG arranges something with Bethesda, I'd love to see TES Arena and Daggerfall for free on GOG.
Fallout for Steam doesn't have DRM i believe.
Fallout for Steam doesn't have DRM i believe.
It comes with Steam itself. Steam is a DRM, just a very well-done one.
It comes with Steam itself. Steam is a DRM, just a very well-done one.
Not all Steam games come with DRM. You can launch some of them directly without even having to run Steam.
Steamworks DRM is optional
