I can see where you're coming from but I'd like to point this out :
More games need heavy urban combat, so I'll be looking forward to that.
Ever since everyone got into the ultramodern fad urban maps have been a staple, though not always with every piece of equipment including the kitchen sink.
I can and I will. I said the same about medal of honour looking like a reskinned version of bad company 2 and Hey look what it is.
looking is not the same as actually fucking playing
aka the point of games
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
you have no idea what you are talking about
I can and I will. I said the same about medal of honour looking like a reskinned version of bad company 2 and Hey look what it is.
Wow you're a visionary
Battlefield really shuld get back to its roots!
need more jetpacking nazi soldiers in Schwimmwagens!
OH MY FUCKING GOD YES!
i
i don't like frostbite it don't have that feeling that Refractor bring to bf2 and 2142
Damnit I want to see the destructibility in action. That's what's supposed to sell this game.
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
+ vehicle combat of course. Guess we'll have to wait till March.
the lighting quality its soo intense!
The environments look a lot bigger than those in games like CoD and MoH, clearly Battlefield for me.
Wow you're a visionary
I just have no faith in dice anymore. After bad company 2.
Can we topple buildings?
Can we fly fucking helicopters within those cities?
Planes in them too?
All that other cool shit?
Can we traverse every floor of those office buildings? That's a lot of map vertically, until a couple tanks blow it up of course.
I just have no faith in dice anymore. After bad company 2.
Good job, you have no faith in them because of an offshoot game? That's like saying you have no faith in them because you didn't like Mirrors Edge (which was a good game too, but you get the point). This is the true successor to Battlefield 2, and thus far it looks damn good; so what if all we have seen is the middle east, it seems that's where the decided to put their demo. Quite frankly I'm happy about it because it does remind me of BF2, as it should.
You really should wait to pass judgement when the beta comes out, perhaps even after, if it is a true beta.
Can we traverse every floor of those office buildings? That's a lot of map vertically, until a couple tanks blow it up of course.
Imagine being on top.
BUILDING IS FALLING APART, GET DOWN! Oh shit, jump off the building, use your parachute, turn around and watch is collapse.
MMh, can't wait. I just still hope we get awesome plane/chopper maps.
I want physics to play a part in the destruction of an office building.
Not this animation crap we get in BC2.
Are you retarded? You're basing it off of a few snippets of the game. You literately cannot claim that as of this time, there's simply not enough to go by.
Well to be fair everyone is also jizzing their pants over the same "snippets".
I'm not saying it'll be bad, looks good from what I've seen but people are forming opinions, you can't just attack the negative ones and leave the positive reviews uncriticized.

I can see it now. A 10 story building being used as a large sniper camp gets the base blown out, so from afar you see 10-15 figures parachuting out various story windows and the roof. That would be a funny sight.
This game looks great from those 5 seconds you can actually see it.
Yes lets judge purely off ONE setting.
That's the facepunch way. See one thing, believe everything else is like that.
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
If this didn't say "Battlefield" on the title, I would be mistaking it for basically every single other modern game.
This game is horribly cliché. Getting so fucking sick and tired of the middle east.

I would be more inclined to give a shit if they actually used some originality.
Then what? Battlefield: We go all the way back to the stone age so people will stop complaining about the Middle East?
Considering its Dice they'd find a way to make it fun but honestly, I don't care. Its Battlefield 3
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
Dear god Dice should just cancel the game now because its obviously not good enough.
First people complain that there's been no Battlefield game.
BC1, BC2 come out.
Then they say there's no true battlefield game.
BF3 is announced.
People complain about various features that haven't been confirmed/unconfirmed yet/its been consolized
BF3 information is released.
People bitch about how its not good enough.
BF3 teaser is released.
Bad teaser, not enough is shown, stupid music, etc.
BF3 screens release.
Its generic, its in the Middle East, unoriginal weaponry, bad story, etc.
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
I bet once multiplayer screens and the other locations are shown people are going to still bitch about everything. You're probably going to complain about how the weapons look stupid, or how the animations aren't good enough, or how the textures look dull, or how the Eiffel Tower isn't scaled correctly or some shit like that.
Stupid music? I think it sounds badass and it does a fantastic job of creating tension. I'm so psyched for this release that I can't even contain myself.
Oh, and I want to smack whoever calls this a Call of Duty clone, you're so wrong that it hurts. Call of Duty does not have full vehicle warfare that includes choppers and jets, and Battlefield has been on the modern warfare scene long before Call of Duty. Oh, and the whole destructibility thing? Yeah. There are millions of reasons to be hyped about this game, but there will always be naysayers. I think they purposely just want to have different opinions about things.
Oh yes, Orgasmic!
I want physics to play a part in the destruction of an office building.

Keep wanting, you'll get none of that for quite some time yet. Frostbite can do all that destruction because its pre-fabbed/pre-animated.
This thread = OH MY GOD ANOTHER GENERIC MODERN WAR SHOOTER, JESUS FUCK IT'S DULL AS FUCK DICE ARE UNORIGINAL THIS IS GONNA SUCK LIKE MEDAL OF HONOR BECAUSE IT LOOKS SORTA LIKE IT AND BE A COD CLONE BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS A COD CLONE AH SHIT ALL HOPE IS LOST I'M GONNA GO HUG MY INDIE GAMES AND TELL MYSELF IT'S ALL RIGHT BLUH BLUH BLUH BLUH BLUGH BLAAAAAAAAGH.
Disregarding the fact that WERE TALKING ABOUT

For fuck sake, remember what it was and where it came from and realize since it's a direct continuation of those games most of us spent a good deal of our childhood playing AND THAT'S WHAT IT'S GONNA BE LIKE, and not just like IT IS WHAT WE REMEMBER THIS SERIES BEING.
So lock your shit down and salute for Christ sake, you're in the presence of a Legend.
i can't nostalgia about a game that hasn't come out yet, wtf worst battlefield game ever.
Wait, in order, not including the Bad Companies, First they made a WW2 Battlefield game, then a modern Warfare game, then a futuristic game, then another WW2 game and now another Modern Warfare game. Could this mean...
*2142 theme plays in mind*
fuck yeah karkand.
Some of the people that got a closed door preview of it, described it as playing the movie black hawk down mixed with the vibe of Battlefield 2.
And honestly all the negativity in this thread is kind of useless. Nobody here has played it, we've only got a slight glimpse of the game.
Relax, Dice will no fuck it up. They may also fallow the path of Battlefield 2, in a couple of years and create a direct sequel to Battlefield 2142.
Fuck yes, full body awareness!

For some, the term "modern warfare", aka any armed conflict post-1991 or 2001 to the present is synonymous with Call of Duty.

Man I hope so, I never gave 2142 much love but Titan mode was actually pretty sweet.
I played the demo for like 2 days straight with no sleep with a mate.
