I'm pretty sure they'll do with the most popular setting they had, which wasn't futuristic, it was modern.
i don't like frostbite it don't have that feeling that Refractor bring to bf2 and 2142
What you mean no being able to step over small rocks, puffs of dust for blood and bad hitbox registry? Hey, frostbites not perfect but its better than the old engine. Plus this is a new frostbite engine developed for PC.
I would be more inclined to give a shit if they actually used some originality.
Like there's really an ounce of originality left in the concept of a relatively modern war game. It's all about execution.
I appear to have hit the butthurt nerve. You like the game? Fucking buy it then. If you think my opinion is that big of a deal then you have issues. I don't like the game, if this is something you can't accept then you need help.
It's not that we have a problem with you not liking the game, it's the reasons you put forth why you don't like it we have a bit of an issue with. Frankly, they're all retarded.
Wait, in order, not including the Bad Companies, First they made a WW2 Battlefield game, then a modern Warfare game, then a futuristic game, then another WW2 game and now another Modern Warfare game. Could this mean... *2142 theme plays in mind*
The chances of that happen seem slim as isn't 2142 considered a failure? We can always hope I suppose.
I wish they would do something similar to Secret Weapons of WWII. That game was fantastic.
That's you, because you keep going on about how everyone else is butthurt
I don't like the game because it uses (what I believe is) a cliché and overused setting and style. Yet this is a "retarded" reason? Like I said. Butthurt.
Yeah that's a pretty retarded reason because if it were set anywhere else you'd still complain about how the setting and style are overused. Get over it. Virtually every setting in the world has been used, and what style? It's modern. What do you want them to do? Go into the future? Oh no 2142 already did that, cliché!
If you're all gonna bitch about how this game doesn't fit your requirements, go to DICE HQ and enlist in a job if you think you can sparkle things up. In all honestly DICE did a great job at this and I'm keen for the release and yes I'll get my hands on this baby. I mean like 64 player slots Drag team mates OFF FUCKING CLIFFS Destruction! New york and fucking Paris. And a lot more features that will blow your mind on unbelievable levels. I can't wait.
Anyone complaining clearly never played 1942/V/2/2142
I didn't see much gameplay. I saw someone fall from a vent or something, people crawling, and then someone shooting a rocket launcher. I'm not going to be all "JIZZ OMG JIZZ" over a trailer with a very minimal amount of gameplay and information. It's probably going to be pretty good, but like other people said, you could easily believe that it was Medal of Honor or COD if it didn't say that it was BF3. Cant we just have some normal gameplay and not bare fractions of it.
Cant we just have some normal gameplay and not bare fractions of it.
Can't we just have some normal porn and not stupid close up's of the guy's dick?
If this didn't say "Battlefield" on the title, I would be mistaking it for basically every single other modern game. This game is horribly cliché. Getting so fucking sick and tired of the middle east.
Its a shame that there's very few regions to go for modern games. Well at least ones that developers are willing to try. MW2 surprised me with the whole russia invades USA thing. Although "players will experience heart-pounding missions across diverse locations including Paris, Tehran and New York." sounds like it could be interesting. Really looking forward to this.
I don't like the game because it uses (what I believe is) a cliché and overused setting and style. Yet this is a "retarded" reason? Like I said. Butthurt.
Every time I read something about a game in the News Node, I can expect you here, either bitching about the game, its developers, people's opinions of the game, or all three at once. If you can really find that many things to complain about from a fucking teaser, then don't bother buying the game. Plain and simple.
I just have no faith in dice anymore. After bad company 2.
Bad Company 2 was as fun as fuck. No other game I've EVER played has achieved the level of atmosphere that game has. Bullets everywhere, explosions everywhere, soldiers cussing everywhere. In case you haven't realized. BC2 =/= Battlefield.
If this didn't say "Battlefield" on the title, I would be mistaking it for basically every single other modern game. This game is horribly cliché. What other game has recently used the Middle East as a setting? Apart from Medal of Honor, I can't think of many at all that have ever used it... except Battlefield 2
What other game has recently used the Middle East as a setting? Apart from Medal of Honor, I can't think of many at all that have ever used it... except Battlefield 2
Hell even MW2 only had like two levels in a desert.
And even if they stayed in the Middle East, big fucking deal. In the modern world (IE the time the game takes place) the Middle East is a fucking hot bed of instability and war. Hell, historically, it always has been. So its not unlikely that wars will continue to be fought there. I doubt we're gonna see the U.S. fighting a war anywhere in Central Africa anytime soon. If you go to Russia, you piss off the Russian government, but more importantly, that has been done a lot too. Perhaps the only possibly feasible location that has not been used extravagantly is the Orient. China, Japan, Korea, those locations are probably the only ones. And those could actually be fairly interesting. But those are the only ones. [editline]26th February 2011[/editline] And hey, there is a fair bit of feasibility in those too. North Korea is always itching to do something stupid, Japan is one of our closest allies and we would rush to their defense, and we have a shaky relationship with China, with good times and bad. And, if you remember, Battlefield 2 had China in it, so there is already that in there. But yeah, they've said New York and Paris will be in the game. They are both a little stereotypical, but they are also major locations. They are also not the only locations. [editline]26th February 2011[/editline] Also, someone asked about the destruction. It appears to be dynamic, and cumulative. This is a shot they showed in the newest Game Informer. looks like a less shite version of MEDAL OF HONOR, I'm pretty sick of the middle east myself we'll see how this turns out though [editline]26th February 2011[/editline]
Also, someone asked about the destruction. The art style kinda reminds me of Killzone 2.

Getting so fucking sick and tired of the middle east.
I agree but Battlefield pretty much touched on the Middle East first in terms of popular war games and has always went for the realistic route where COD and others focus more on story. Battlefield should OWN this theater of war. COD can't even amount to how great even Battlefield 2 was. Massive 64 player servers with jets, attack helicopters, tanks, jeeps, APCs, ect the WORKS! It really makes you feel immersed in a battlefied where as COD games just feel like a match.
looks like a less shite version of MEDAL OF HONOR, I'm pretty sick of the middle east myself we'll see how this turns out though
what makes you say that? 5 seconds of SP gameplay? with 64 players and jets, i doubt it would be like moh also, bf3 will have a western european and american setting
with 64 players and jets, i doubt it would be like moh
what makes you say that? 5 seconds of SP gameplay? :smug:
If this didn't say "Battlefield" on the title, I would be mistaking it for basically every single other modern game. This game is horribly cliché. Getting so fucking sick and tired of the middle east.
Ok, these are the few places fps games can exist without failing miserably Middle Eastern modern combat Vietnam 70's combat WWII old combat Future alien spacey pew pew If it exists in any other place it must be done amazingly well, or it wont work.
I really hope that my PC meets the minimum requirements to run this game, I'm really looking forward to it.
Looks awesome, but I'm getting tired of the desert, I just want a normal environment.
I can't tell if its Bad Company, Medal of Honor or Battlefield. They all look the same.
It clearly says Battlefield 3 in the video.
i don't like frostbite it don't have that feeling that Refractor bring to bf2 and 2142
It doesn't have that 1942 feeling either. Don't forget that. [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] Back then, EA wasn't so much involved in their published games. So it was more realistic. But since EA...
