God is RG3 secretly.
Now before we start calling Americans idiots or something along that line (Oh wait Used Car Salesman already did...), we should probably take into account that this poll asked 1000 people. By telephone.
Saying something like "1/4th of all -large group of people- think -idea-." and basing said claim off of 1000 people is like taking 10 pieces of gravel from one spot in a large pile, finding ~4 of them to look similar, then claiming "1 in 4 pieces of gravel are identical". Absolutely ridiculous.
let us not forget that 56% of the population of Iceland, a european country ranked above the U.S in terms of quality of education, believes that a race of "hidden elves" Live in the woodlands of iceland, probably live in the woodlands of iceland or might live in the woodlands of iceland.
"gotta get my bowl gotta have cereal" is similar to a lyric from Rebecca Black's Friday, but this video predates Friday...that's pretty weird.
why would god care more for one football team then the othe
does he tally the total of each team and their fanbases' sins and righteousness and then give the victory to the least sinful team or something?

You know what we should also take into account? That's how statistics work! Do you possibly imagine that someone will interview the entire population of the USA?
You think all the modern Gods from the major religions argue over their favorite teams?
Well certain countries think god is on their side, god bless America.
The idea that this many people cant make the simple connection that if their chosen deity doesn't care enough about world events to end the pointless suffering millions go through on a day to day basis , then it likely wont grant any divine blessings to a fucking sports team is really rather frightening.
Well how did america get to be the best country if God wasn't involved in all the things there?

Pretty good Byrds sound. Is this a tribute band of some sort? I like good tribute bands, like 1964 and Barry Steele
In Heaven archangel Michael is putting together the football pool for the Super Bowl. It's tough for him to sell many squares though because every time he offers another angel a square he hears "So how many squares is God getting free this time?" and he has to answer truthfully, since he's an archangel, "all of them". So the other angels just say "Sorry bro but I already bought squares in Gabriel's pool". They can lie because they are not archangels, this is a little known technicality that gets exploited in Heaven from time to time.
And this is why it's wrong to say God favors certain teams, He only cares if His numbers win.
Not surprised. Some of the die hard sports fans I've met are very superstitious when it comes to sports. My friend is an atheist and so is his family but when the vikings play, they have an offering of round objects in front of the TV and if someone goes to take a shit and they score, that person is not allowed to come back into the room
Yeah we pray to Odin but he hasn't been kind to the vikings the past few years after Farve disappointed him in 2009.
We need to sacrifice more Packer fans and some Bears fans I think.

I think the Egyptian gods and such are involved too.
Sorry starving children, homeless people, victims of hate crimes, the handicapped, the depressed, etc., god is too busy watching the Superbowl to help you.
do you even statistics
Seriously, have you ever taken even an intro statistics course?
Yeah I get it, it gives you a ratio which under most circumstances would apply correctly to a proportionally larger group. AKA Yes this would means 1 in 4 think -superbeing- affects the superbowl. HOWEVER, the data was taken from a thousand people. There's ~318 million people in the US. That's a really low number to work with (1000).
What I'm trying to say is that it's somewhat idiotic to assume that the rest of the population conforms to the ratio of people they found because they polled a relatively small number of people. Poll something like 100-200K people and then you can start looking at the evidence a little bit.

Poseidon is rooting for the Seahawks but Anubis thinks it's gonna be the Broncos
[editline]31st January 2014[/editline]
anubis is always fucking around
I take a Spinozian view of football.

That's not how it works at all
One in four Americans is horribly deluded it seems.
