Right, so here's my reply to the topic.
In the world we live in, in our time, with our views, flaws and feelings towards sex in general - Sex is harmful to children.
This is unfortunate, because sex really doesn't have to be anything else than what it is. In a more laid back world, there wouldn't even be anything such as [I]"rape"[/I] or [I]"molestation"[/I].
But the thing is, this is a mentality that is spread all over the world. And as long as this mentality stays, it will be harmful to children. I say, as it is today, CP should be and remain illegal in the same way it is in most of the world.
But I also think we should work towards lightening our views on sex and sexuality in general. Maybe, with time (50years, 100 years?), we'll move on and see sex as what it is and nothing more.
I see this as the next big step needed in society. We're throwing wayyy too much focus at sex and sexuality. Gay discrimination, and all that shizzle. Think about it, why do we use words like dirty, naughty and bad for sexual things? And why is it that sex and violence are put as equals in movies and games? ([I]Both will make the game/movie 18+, actually sex can do that better than violence. What is going on??[/I]) Violence being something that directly hurts (by definition) someone, where sex is, well, dare I say directly the opposite?
So, yeah. CP should be illegal until we no longer find it harmful. I believe that if we get more laid back and relaxed, it'll stop being harmful. It'll be a win-win situation. Gays will be less harrassed, pedophiles won't be a problem [I](because they won't be causing harm anymore)[/I], and children won't be traumatized by sex. Win-win.

But that's often what happens in CP, underdeveloped kids get fucked.
The reason why we have the age of consent, people, is so that children who have not yet physically/mentally/sexually matured to the point where they can make decisions about their own body don't have sex when they're not ready, without understanding and preparing for all the problems sex can bring. I mean, have you seen those 13 year old girls who've had kids, their life's pretty much fucked up.
The reason why child porn should be illegal is that the vast majority of these kids have not reached the age to which they can make reliable decisions about their own body, and that's assuming they're doing it voluntarily and not just being raped. We can argue about whether watching child porn promotes an unhealthy obsession with the sweet, sweet nectar of young poontang all we want, but the fact remains that watching CP promotes the making of these videos, which will most likely result in the misery of the child involved.

Erm, no. There is no 'win-win'. The fact is, if you go and rape a 13 year old and leave them pregnant, that is gonna fucking traumatise them no matter what. Sex could be made less of a taboo, sure, but there's physical constraints on how far that can extend.
