Absolution was great, these haters are cray:weeb:
Game's good. It's a great game to start the franchise off with. But the disguise system is pretty rough around the edges.
I wouldn't say it's a good introduction to the franchise, it doesn't really play like the others.
I wouldn't say it's a good introduction to the franchise, it doesn't really play like the others.
To be fair, the difference between Silent Assassin, Blood Money, and Absolution are all fairly major.
To be fair, the difference between Silent Assassin, Blood Money, and Absolution are all fairly major.
I would say Contracts and Blood Money are the best 2 to play.
I don't really think it is though. But if you play Absolution, my number one advice is to tell that score meter to go fuck itself. Don't pay any attention to it. See, the game constantly wants you to do suit only and virtually never get caught ever. Don't get people suspicious ever either. In previous Hitman games (at least, in Blood Money) you were allowed to kill whoever you wanted so long as you made it look like an accident. You could also sedate them (a feature only put in Absolution in the form of a QTE where 47 physically attacks them), for no penalty from what I remember. You also would often disguise yourself, leaving your suit somewhere easily retrievable when you were ready to leave the level. These are all no-nos in Absolution. Doing many of these same actions hurts your score, and due to the linear nature of the levels, you will most often either have to choose to wear a suit or to say fuck the score, fuck Silent Assassin rating (which isn't achievable on some levels even), and just do whatever you want. Choosing to do it suit style hurts the game significantly. It reduces a huge portion of the game essentially to you crouch walking, spending hours of trial and error getting seen because the detection in this game doesn't allow for any wiggle room whatsoever. Even with disguises, cutscenes will not remember that you were wearing a different outfit and cause immersion fractures when 47 suddenly has his suit back, plus they're pretty much paper thin, and you'll get caught if you hang around any given area for more than 2 seconds, but fuck, at least you can walk around again. Basically, my advice for enjoying Hitman Absolution is to tell the score meter to fuck off, and do what comes naturally to you as a player. Don't be afraid to murder someone, don't be afraid to use a disguise, hell, don't feel discouraged if you want to kill literally everyone. The game can be more fun as a Terminator type shooter than a stealth game, which isn't a good sign, but whatever. Oh, and like I said, Absolution is a very, very linear game, so expect to be railroaded and have very clear things you're supposed to do to succeed unlike in previous Hitman games where there are proven methods but it's pretty much just do whatever you want.
In-deed. It's kind of ridiculous, you literally cannot utilize the CQC-moves (from up front, not chokehold from behind) on the enemies while also going for the Infiltrator (not getting spotted once) because every time you perform a CQC-move on an enemy, they spot you before ultimately getting knocked out. Even if no one else got alarmed, and it displayed the "CLEAR" message, yet no Infiltrator for you. It kind of makes sense, because you DID get spotted and any knocked out people would be awoken later as you exit the level, however it also applies to killing people. Say you quickly take out 2 or more with silent headshots, with "CLEAR" message displayed and so on, yet no Infiltrator for you again because they spot you for a split second before dying except the first guy you shoot. Even if no other enemies on the map grew any wiser, and you sneaked past most of them unnoticed and everything "perfectly" otherwise. [editline]29th August 2015[/editline] Then again Infiltrator is probably meant purely for someone who wants to sneak through the entire thing unnoticed. It will restrict your way of dealing with the enemies a lot.
Fuck I'm 1 SEK short :(
Right I'm reinstalling Absolution to see whether it's actually 'a good stealth game just not a Hitman game' because to my memory it was a straight-up bad game
This is my first Hitman game. The first few levels, I tried to play it stealthy, but honestly, it wasn't that fun. I mean I got points deducted for everything, even stupid things like using interactive objects in the map. Why do you get an opportunity to drop a disco ball on an exotic dancer (even the prompt tells you to drop it, to attract attention) but once you do, you get points deducted, as if you weren't supposed to do that. At that point i stopped giving a shit about the points, or the stealth aspect, unless there are too many opponents for me to take out terminator style.
Wait, did you guys already get the code? I donated yesterday and still nothing

Still nothing.. well, at least I donated?
The disguise system is totally broken. They should give it away for free and then charge a dollar for people to return it.
Good job proving his point.
