Also he probably called the police before the ambulance, and I can imagine russian emergency services aren't the most reliable to get there on time to save them.

How you can't at least level with that is beyond me. The only people who should be mourning are those related to the thugs. Killing anyone is not a solution, violence has it's own problems that cannot be evaded. I don't support any kind of violence. Although, legitimate use of violence can only be that which is required in self-defense. I don't think he deserves to spend any time in prison, he should be set free for defending his family.

Hopefully he will be judged by a jury of his peers, peers that aren't morons. Barbarians broke into his castle, he has the right to defend it.

I'm pretty sure nothing is going to happen to him for this, invading your home and holding your family at gunpoint will justify pretty much anything. Sure is badass, though, outright killing three gun-toting people with nothing but a kitchen knife.
