But we're piles of shit...
FROM SPACE
Am I the only one slightly disappointed by this? I mean, it's great that we found this out, but unless it increases the chances that life exists beyond our planet, then it makes organic stuff seem a little less unique...
idfk, I know that organic in chemistry means carbon-containing, as opposed to other uses where it more specifically means life-related, but knowing that complex organic compounds are no longer the domain of living things.

Not that it matters, because the God Emperor will save us.
Holy fuck.
This could potentially lead to a scientific understanding of the origin of life. I hope I live to the day where a concerted effort is close to actually finding out.
Wait... wait...
Does this mean possible...
Star Swarm?
:ohdear:
Holy shit. If this is true, then the possibility of alien life everywhere just went way up.
We are children of the stars.

It increases the chances tenfold. Every sun can potentially create life. And since there are already earth-like planets, extraterrestrial life is a granted. Thinking that we are the only life form in the ENTIRE space is fucking stupid.
First thing I thought of when I read the title:
"...ancient stars colonized by sentient fungi. Gas giants, inhabited by vast meteorological intelligences, worlds stretched thin across the universe where dimensions intersect...Impossible to describe with our limited vocabulary."
this means that the chances of extraterrestrial life is exponentially higher than before. this is amazing!
