No I don't have a job but if you just said I didn't buy it you sir are really wrong. I still don't know how I lost gold but you still are a gold.
im a fake gold, and proud of it. what i said wasn't describing you, sorry for that one, but I merely saying that many people rather want things for FREE than spend a hefty 50 bucks.
And wtf, if you respect the devs? I can understand if you don't like their manager or something, but is that a good enough reason to punish the people who put their heart and soul into programming the game?
There is still a person who is working a 9 to 5 job making the product, a person whose work is being take by others for free.
This is the game industry, is it's often more like a 6 am - 2 pm job.
:siren: Spain and Canada can now have P2P parties :siren:
This is the game industry, is it's often more like a 6 am - 2 pm job.
game industry with a hefty production fee business sim =/= real life do you people understand what goes on when you make videogames? It's not simple as draw this, drag this here, and do this for other stuff.
This is the game industry, is it's often more like a 6 am - 2 pm job.
thats the same length

It's not like you're intentionally "punishing" the devs, it's just the fact it's for free, which is always better than not.

Excuse me, I have to go brush up on my Spanish. Que se mueve a la España.
Woops, mean 6am-2am. work days can get up to 20 hours long near deadline.
oh kay and guys, heres the GTA IV budget http://www.digitalbattle.com/2008/05/01/gta-iv-budget-revealed/ 100 Million
Until you start selling the pirated copies.
What asshole does that?
What asshole does that?
In Russia they sell game mods as standalones.
oh kay and guys, heres the GTA IV budget http://www.digitalbattle.com/2008/05/01/gta-iv-budget-revealed/ 100 Million
That's a fucking lot. Before anyone says "perfect example of piracy not destroying a game's potential" GTA4 was released on consoles first, which is where it made its massive money amount.
Not being theft doesn't mean it should not be illegal. It's a serious problem for PC gaming, look at world of goo. The two guys who made it reported 90% of the people who owned the game pirated it. That may have been a high estimate, but do you honestly think that it is ok for those two people to not receive payment from 90% of the people playing their game?
Okay, what should they do then? Come up with a DRM system? The 10% that bought it will turn into 0% [editline]12:19AM[/editline] Fact is that nothing digitally can be secure and never will. Fucking deal with it or distribute your shitty product somehwere else.
Kick ass, I know where I'm going on holiday to.
Kick ass, I know where I'm going on holiday to.
lol.
I saw this BBC news thing that said that people who illegally download copyrighted music spend more on their music legally than people who dont download illegally. I dont get how it worked though
If your are poor and download a torrent, you whouldn't had bought it in the first place, no loss!
If your not poor and download a torrent, you wouldn't had bought in the first place, no loss! we should legalize pirating really, a system that entirely relies on the good will of humanity will definitely succeed! I mean, you can afford a 800 dollar gaming computer, but you can't spend 50 fucking bucks for a game? Get a job.

It's really an interesting topic to ponder, File-sharing when you really think about it's not as black and white as the RIAA or it's foreign counterparts would make it seem. They say "stealing" Movies, Games, ect. Is the real world equivalent to stealing a Car. but actually it's like saying a Man walks into a Dealership and purchases a Car, he takes it home then somehow makes a complete carbon copy of the Car he legally bought and then he rigs it so you can drive the Car without using a Key. and then proceeds to give these copies away for free to anyone who asks. now tell me, would you consider this a crime?. Not so simple now is it?.

I was outlining how stupid the analogy is, not trying to rationalize it. you can't magically make a copy of something physical but you can copy data. as such it is pointless to compare this to petty theft. your not "stealing" anything in the general sense.
After all that jazz they were doing with Artist Taxes, I'm surprised this even happened.
It's a serious problem for PC gaming, look at world of goo.
I bought World of Goo completely legit for 1 penny. What's even funnier is that I have a Keep The Change plan with my bank. I was essentially paid 99 cents for the game.
I bought world of goo for 1 penny too. And thank god I didn't pay more.
