The only reason it seems to be happening more now is because we have access to the internet which tells us every single horrible thing that happens anywhere in the world.

Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas seem to be the biggest states for things like this. Racism is really sad for everyone involved.

I'm tired of seeing people on Facepunch assuming things about the south when they don't live nor have visited here (not talking about you in particular since you said "seem" so my bad for making it look like im talking about you). I can't vouch for racial tensions in other southern states but I can assure you they are not bad places to live or are rundown like people imagine the south. I've seen more racial tension in Calfornia and New York (yes I visited those places) then here. We have a few racist rednecks but no one likes them anyway.

There is a lot of racism in California and NY too but it feels different in the south, it's like people think it's alright here. Like it's more regular. Well Georgia and Tennessee are more ahead but Mississippi, Alabama, and the Carolina's are kind of slow paced.

I have seen no statistics, but there are reasons why I would believe that the Southern states would have had more anti-black hate crimes (it was certainly true in the past). This doesn't mean that everyone in these states is a horrible redneck racist, though. By the way I live in Dothan, in the southeasternmost tip of Alabama.
