Duterte warns 'son of a bitch' Obama not to question him about extrajudicial killings

Haha I fucking love this guy.
It's like he doesn't realize how monumentally retarded he is.
The insane rarely know that they are insane.
Obama should bring his anger translator when talking to Duterte.
Wow, I had no idea this guy was actually elected already. I guess it's nice that he's following through on his campaign promises, the absolute madman.
Maybe we should just own the Philippines again for old times sake. If I remember correctly Filipinos have a really positive view (I think one of the highest) of America, granted this was data before this guy took over.
Isnt this a thing the us does too? Killing people without trial etc...
Yep we're told to run around and slaughter people for using drugs, totally.
I mean, in fairness, we (The United States) go around blowing people up with drones in Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen(!). Especially since Obama took office.
I'd rather we not point fingers since we're probably just as bad. We need to mind our own business.
As if using manned aircraft is somehow not as bad as using drones that can loiter longer and hopefully minimize innocents dying? Also most civilian deaths are from insurgents but who cares about that right?
This sounds like the kind of threat a little kid would make to their parent or something.

I think that a better description would be 'horrendous', considering how many deaths it has directly caused.
Looks like Obama has cancelled the meeting.

He's going to South Korea instead.
I bet they'll tell us that he was just acting up because he was tired and hungry again. Y'know, like the last time he did something like this.

From the very beginning our goal in the Philippines when we took it from Spain was to eventually give them self governance and sovereignty. The only people who wanted to keep them were fringe weirdos and blatant imperialists.
Taking over the Philippines now, even through popular referendum, would be such an overtly imperialistic and expansionist thing to do that we'd effectively ruin our relations with literally every nation on Earth.
Does this woman height, sub-manlet think he can intimidate our >6ft tall alpha male president?
We already kicked the Philippines's ass once, don't make us do it again

Good. Duterte doesn't even deserve the time of day. Does he really think he can intimidate one of the most powerful nations on earth?
On one hand, he's an insane elected official (for some reason people like to refer to him as a dictator because they're morally opposed to him), but on the other hand, he's completely right that the US has no fucking authority over the Philipines and the they and their world police habits need to fuck off.

What are you even on about?

It was just a joke, lighten up. Did you actually think I was serious?

You say that like there aren't people who genuinely think like that. Maybe if it'd had ended in an exclamation mark it'd have been easier to tell but other than that it's not really obvious at all
What's really sad is that I think the Philippines still relies on the U.S for most of it's defense as well unless Duterte wants to realign with China.

Unlikely unless he wants to give up the Philippines claims to parts of the South China Sea
Does one of the most powerful nations on earth really need to stick their noses in the Philippians' business?
Seriously, let them do them, let us do us. In the end we'll be significantly better off.
It's our business because we do business with them. Plus the fact that these new programs he's established could end up killing American tourists.

He probably legitimately believes the Philippines can take on China without America's help. Even though their army literally uses WWII guns

The US still uses a weapon from 1930 although slightly updated.
He realised he fucked up

Let's be honest though, M3's are pretty fucking awesome.

Nah, even he, of all people in the Philippines admits that China can easily wreck this country.

Just like Russia ruined their relations when they nonchalantly walked into Crimea? Noone would even give a shit.

:what:
The US didnt "free" Cuba, the Philippines, Guam and Puerto Rico out of the kindness of its hearth.
While they were still spanish colonies, US was the biggest export buyer, going as far as to buy 90% of Cuba's exports at one point.
The Cuban Lords werent too happy tough, as the spanish crown kept most of the profits. Which led to two Cuban revolts against the crown that were foiled.
So, the US saw an apportunity. They were tired of having to pay so much for the colonial commodities, and saw the anger of the Cubans as the perfect excuse.
Using an humanitaria front, they demanded Spain to let go of the colonies or else. Spain refused and as most historians agree, the US pinned the Maine's destruction on the Spanish.
They were eager to take control of the export trade, so war ensued, Spain most and the colonies were "freed".
The reality is that they simply changed overlords; once the US had the Colonies, they dropped their front and exploited them to no end, leaving them dar worse than before because of the war damage, removing all of the privileges they had when under Spanish control and hoarding all of the money and exports, leaving them in misery.

lol taking over a small region is different to taking over an entire country.
