Republican US Rep: "This is not an environmental disaster... it is a natural phenomenon"

Which is why I classify myself as independent. I mean really, "HURP DERP LEAKING PIPE NATURAL PHENOMENON!"
My Jedi senses detect a high amount of bullshit in this sector.
Why the hell are Alaskan politicians so pro-oil?
I mean, of all places...
Because there is a ton of oil in northern Alaska.
There was also the massive tanker spill back in 1989, which is kinda what's getting me.
I'm aware there's a fuckton of oil in the arctic
Yes, the earth hemorrhaging money out of it's crust is a natural occurrence. Yeah, since when did fissures start leaking millions of barrels of oil? At the most it's like a few barrels a year. But this guy is plain nuts!
If you don't think injecting someone with the AIDS virus is bad, then I don't know what else to say.
Right, saying an entire ecosystem dying is fine, that we should do nothing to stop this is fine, but saying the man who wants to stop us fixing an economic disaster should die is a bad thing? Hmm...

I've got a book I'd like to recommend you: http://www.amazon.com/Reading-Comprehension-Success-Minutes-Builders/dp/1576854949
"The man is an ostrich," Democrat Harry Crawford said.
What the hell is this guy on?
Uh, hey, buddy, that much oil in the gulf cost, not a phenomenon. Maybe for you since this can hurt the President's reputation, but this is actually an environmental disaster.
"Oil has seeped into this ocean for centuries, will continue to do it. During World War II there was over 10 million barrels of oil spilt from ships, and no natural catastrophe. ... We will lose some birds, we will lose some fixed sealife, but overall it will recover."
Could the oil go through and split/spill because we were AT WAR WITH JAPAN, ITALY, AND FUCKING NAZI GERMANY WHO ATTACKED US?
I swear, he made Palin look smart, and thats big. Is it me or are Republicans getting more retarded or refusing to listen.
All Republicans are idiots who deserve to die. If you disagree with this, you are a Republican, and must die. If you don't eat at least two Republican babies a day, you are probably a republican, and therefore must be tortured into confession.
anyone who thinks like you do dies first.
What do you expect, the Republican party receives 100% of oil company campaign donations. They're all paid spokesmen for big oil.
I stopped at Republican.
No offense to republicans that have brains, but every news thread here that starts out with "Republican..." makes my blood pressure spike.
If it starts with "Republican..." or "Democrat..." or "Conservative..." or "Liberal..." or any other political affiliation it makes my blood pressure spike. Especially in cases like this where political affiliation is entirely irrelevant and only mentioned to monger support on your side of the issue.

Would be less of a problem if the us system was less two sided.

The crude oil situation and injecting any living thing with the AIDS virus are both horrible ideas. I never said either was good.
You on the other hand, hint that killing that guy (supposedly by injecting him with the AIDS virus) would be just. You're sounding like some extremist environmentalist.

If someone was stopping the process of fixing up a literal disaster destroying entire ecosystems, you're saying quite clearly, his life is worth more than all others that this threatens? I'm not saying kill this guy, Johnny did, and he did so in jest. You're lack of reading comprehension is not my responsibility, either way however, thats not the point of this. The point of what he said was quite fucking clearly, This incident is about as natural as getting stabbed in the arm, and injected with the AIDS virus. THATS ALL.

I really don't know why you failed to understand this from the beginning.
Subtext!

Governor Perry of Texas also called this an act of god.

I remember that. Someone else compared the oil to chocolate milk.

There's no fair man in FP political debates, don't even try to use sense. Nobody will learn.

Personally, I wanted to see whether he considered the fire that burned down his mansion an "act of God".

No, I got the part where Mr. Mo was joking from the first read. You however, still implied it is just for that congressman to die because of his ignorance. Yea, I'm against that kind of thinking.
You are siding with the idea that the killing of some guy will somehow offset these issues.

No. Im not at all. Where the fuck are you getting that from? Im not saying kill anybody. Thats NEVER what I said. I said, and if you didnt get this, it is not my fault because it is clearly there, If he WAS standing in the way of fixing an disaster of extreme proportions ruining ecosystems and etc, then how is his life worth more than them? This is all I said, I said nothing of how he should die, of how I want him dead, NOTHING of that. Jesus Christ.

There, you just suggested that it's a him or them scenario. But I understand now that you said you don't want him dead.
I'm ashamed to live in Alaska. :(
Why can't it be more like this?

:(
I think the Republican party has really lost its gleam. With people like this, it just makes them all look like brainless folk.
Why don't any of the Democrats have people this clueless? I'm trying to be fair here [sp](lol)[/sp] but it seems like the majority of misinformation and knowledge failure comes from the Republican party.
Oh some people are plain nuts.
I don't think he would say that if Alaska had a shit ton of oil in its area.

:downs:
there is something wrong with letting such people have political power
